M54 engine tuning.

Hi guys and girls. I have an e85 3.0 with the m54 engine fitted. I've owned the car a year now and slowly getting it to where I want it. I must say I've found this fourm full of great ideas and the wish list just keeps getting longer!!! The one thing I'm having difficulty with is finding info on mild engine work. I'm interested to know weather any m sport part would fit. Exhaust manifold and inlet manifold/ throttle bodies. Was thinking maybe early e36 m3 as this is the same displacement as the m54 in my z. Any info would be great.

The S54 is it's own animal and no engine parts will fit an M54.

I too have a 3.0 and have done extensive mods to it.
By far the best bang for the buck is a supercharger and free flowing exhaust.
I have yet to put it on a rolling road but another 3.0 owner in the U?S. has done almost the same mods and puts down close to 300 hp at the rear wheels.

Doing internal work to the M54 is costly and does not give good dollars to hp returns.
Depending on the power level and money you want to spend, maybe a tune and an exhaust would work for you or go all out and supercharge etc".........ooooooor get an M 8)

Charger or M.

As above, it seems very little can be done to these engines.
