Just wondering if anyone else follows M539 restorations on YouTube? Basically a Serbian fella named Sreten, living in Germany and fixing a variety of older BMW’s (yet to do a Z4 though!). I’ve become a bit obsessed with his videos, even though most of what he does is way beyond my capabilities  He’s self-taught, apparently all through online research, forums and instructional videos.

Really amusing and informative, for anyone into older BM’s.

<waves> As an amateur wrench-jockey I find his videos fascinating. He was recently interviewed on the BMW Group Classic channel as well as having a feature video about his E39 M5 on there.

I've been following him for 2 or 3 years now and he's excellent. Entertaining and very informative. Lots of info in his 'Project Cologne' E46 325i Touring videos and current E39 530i Touring videos that is applicable to the M54 engined E85 Z4. His VANOS rebuild on 'Cologne' is worth watching for the uninitiated https://youtu.be/PGkTkImVSxg and I'm particularly looking forward to see if he goes about his Infinitas Supercharger install on the 530i any differently than I did on my E85
One thing I will disagree with him on though, he doesn't rate Meyle HD parts. I've fitted them many times on 6 different BMWs over the years without issue :D

I like that he uses bits from ebay and amazon. Got me wanting to refurbish my calipers or do a full suspension overhaul. Most of all, I now want a vapour-blasting cabinet… only £1,000… I’ll work out the details of somewhere to put it later on, probably :D

I've been using eBay for years for parts; can't remember how I managed before. And don't talk to me about the vapour blasting cabinet.....!

I've also used Meyle parts for 15 years easily and never seen a problem with them. Certainly better than things I've picked up at the motor factors which come under the umbrella of stuff I'd not even think about in eBay. The drop link with a cheese balljoint thread being a notable low point.
