Very tempting. Love my z4mc but my m3 e92 was sick - very expensive to run though. I've not driven the new gen turbo m3/m4 yet. Are they as charismatic as the v8 4.0ltr? :|

I spent an afternoon driving one back in summer. I found it amazing, but very very weird. Can't explain it. It also felt HUGE! I was glad to jump back into the MC afterwards.

I must admit, for a savage daily I reckon it is untouchable.

Haven't driven the V8 M3, but have driven the new M4. Power delivery is brutal. As difficult as it might be to believe, it made my car feel reeeeeeaaaaally slow. At first I didn't like the flappy paddles either, but now reckon they'd be ok to live with.

Sounded great on start up too (hairs on the back of your neck standing up type thing), and the in car sound was impressive with the augmentation through the speakers etc.

All in all, a great car. Was tempted to get a major bollocking from the Mrs and sign up for one. However, at full list price it's just too much £££. That and the dealer wasn't offering much on the zed.

In a few years, I'll be tempted

I had one for the day a few months ago. Loved it ! 2 cars in 1. Could be used as a daily & toy at the weekend. Noise was fantastic & handling was epic. Drove it normally & it was returning 28/30 mpg. Saying that had it into the low teens too lol

You obviously wouldn't get the same reward from the blown motor when compared to revving the V8 to 8400rpm but I would imagine a healthy dose of low down torque would be a benefit in a daily driving environment. Just been reading on another forum that there is an easy exhaust mod on the M4 and it really adds to the sound where it keeps the exhaust valves open all the time instead of just in the sport plus setting.

The exhaust mod would be good, as it was the valve that made the noise unpredictable IMO, you can't really predict whether the noise is going to sound like a fart or like a tornado driving normally around town. I'd rather tornado all of the time :-p
