Hi all,

So I have 3 cracks in the NSR wheel :x

The wheel is still holding air with no issues but I've been told it will fail an MOT. First MOT is in November so I have a decision to make.

Do I have the M326's repaired and have a very minor kurb rash sorted or buy M359's?

It'll probably be cheaper to buy the M359's and then sell the M326's on. The M326 wheels have always been my favourite on the E89 and I wouldn't of bought one without them but I've always loved the M359's and think the extra inch front and back in width will look great. I'm torn. Please help by giving me your opinions!

M359's... (hope it's ok to use this pic! I'd have them in Silver)

Thanks all! I expected the 326's to be the forum favourite so quite surprised. Time to order the 359's and hope the 255/35 can cover a 10j, if not I'll need a pair of 265/30's.

I haven't yet

I'm so undecided, I see pics / look at mine and I love the 326's, but sometimes I think the 359's will look better and then other times I think no, leave it on the 326's!

If you dont mind me asking,

  • Do you have a picture of them on the car
  • As the resident wheel and tyre expert could you help clarify the difference in offset and size as these wheels are slightly different than the standard 19 inch 326`s

For info.

Standard is:
8Jx19 ET29
9Jx19 ET40

The CS wheels are:

Front Axle 19 x 8.5" 5 x 120 ET35 Includes 5mm Spacer
Rear Axle 19 x 9.5" 5 x 120 ET40

Trying to understand the difference in look e.g. wider wheel will fill the arch out more (Sit closer to the edge of the body line?) and the offset means it will set this back on the front. So what is the spacer doing brining the wheel back out to compensate?

Any help understanding this apppreciated

Sorry for the post hijack Steve if its a problem just say and il take the conversation to a different thread :)

The 5mm spacer is most likely to take the back side of the front wheel from the suspension , the face of the 8.5j et 35 Cs would sit virtually as your 326 or 296 would .
Photofucket won't let me share my pics but found one on google

Thanks for that explanation, I have been researching and found a post on another forum that seems to explain it really well.

Found this on there as well so might be of use to others reading this: http://www.1010tires.com/Tools/Wheel-Offset-Calculator

Also think I found an image that represents really well the look and I like it 8)

Having punched in the numbers to the calculator I now have my answer 8)

Rears: = 6mm wider (Inside and outside)

Fronts: 7mm wider (Inner edge) 5mm (wider outer edge)

Think I could be going for the 359’s, failed the MOT today based on a cracked rear wheel :headbang:

I’ll start calling round tomorrow to see what I can arrange sooner, a repair or new wheels.

Which tyres will the repaired/new wheels be on?

I’ve put my Uniroyal Rainsport 3’s on the New Wheels. Old Wheels will be sold without Tyres, might sell them individually as I’m not sure if I’d buy repaired cracked wheels!
