Check out the video on bridge to gantry as to why you should drive the Nurburgring carefully and take notice of the warnings , even when it's a hire car , 35k excess :o
I've not posted a link as I've no idea how to before the pointless comment posters start :D

Errrr, copy/paste?
Pointless post otherwise.

What an idiot.

Pleb was too pre-occupied with beating the other M3 and not concentrating on the road ahead.

Poor guy in the TT.

Sorry these videos always make me laugh, one place I would never visit as to me its just a free for all for budding racing drivers with no talent with the enivitable consequences. Always find it frightening that these people are loose in powerful cars. Still at least its not on the public roads and no-one was hurt except their egos.

This ones a little scarier, such a waste of a car.

It is a public road during tourist laps , and German traffic laws apply .
I was there in August and I didn't even bother to unload the car , we've been going years and the level of driving and aggression is shocking on a weekend now . As you say , most people get transfixed on a car ahead of similar or greater performance and have to prove their point , first time I've ever gone and not bought a ticket .
First time we ever went we just rocked up , parked in the car park beside the diner and bought a ticket , about £7 I think it was and off we went and barely saw another car apart from the ones that passed us , and that was all of them

It's always somone who ignore warning lights or don't even know the meaning of them lol

Unfortunately, the standard of marshalling at the ring has declined over recent years in my experience and the AR teams take much longer to react too, especially on touristenfarten days.
However, when ur rocking up to a line of slowed cars at full chat it's sometimes difficult to see the yellows due to the line of cars in front of you obscuring the flag wavers as well as the undulating topography, bends and blind spots and this is partially thereason this accident has happened imo.
Most drivers are quick enough to respond to the yellow flags and hit the hazard lights in order to warn those behind them, but not always sadly. It should be a rule, but the caveat tothat would be enforcing it would be impossible and especially with so many uninsured drivers there.

Reading the Youtube comments the driver said he had to pay for the damage to all 3 cars at 54000 Euros....but managed to get it down to half that.
