Hi all just having a think and I know some of this has been covered before but I want to make sure before I go ahead with my plans.
So basically a friend of mine had a heavy front impact with his e46 m3 and has got it back off of the insurers written off. the idea was going to be a complete swap of engine, gearbox and running gear but whiles coming out of shock from the crash the engine ran dry due to the sump being smashed (fuel cut off didn't work either) and the bottom end has eaten itself so he's going to rebuild that for another project he has if it's not to far gone. So he has offered me the rear subframe complete with diff etc and also the front set up.
So what I'd like to know is what snags am I going to run into iVe read about the rear subframe will fit fine and to keep the original abs sensors or it will play up with the abs ecu and the prop shaft will need modding. What sort of issues will I have with the front?
Also I know the wheels will have to be changed to m3 spec due to the offsets which I've got a set of the m3 diamond polished one already.
The main idea was to have a very cheap running gear upgrade which would give me better anti roll bars, brakes and a LSD.
