M2 Nice Bimmerpost Thread

Came across this thread on Bimmerpost with some nice images http://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1245083

More I look at the M2 the more I would dearly love one, nice and compact with just enough touches so it doesn't come across as too OTT. My only marmite bit is the front bumper but overall love it.

Very nice but way out of my reach

Chatting to my local dealer its £6466 deposit and £579 per month over 4 years, and £17,108 balloon payment and no discount lol

If I swapped my M135i for another I could probably negotiate 8K off discount, I guess how desperate you are for a fully fledged ///M car. Still I can pretend I'm sitting in the M2 :)

I really like the M4, a lot. The M2 - looking forward to seeing one in the metal, the arch extensions look good in photos and will be even better in reality.

Yet you could have an M135i for £20k less - 46k v 26k. Tricky decision.

Theres a cycle shop owner in my local town who has an M4 whilst lovely I would still err on the M2 as prefer a more compact shape even if down on power.

As you say 20K is an awful lot over the M135i /235i considering the power deficit isn't that great :|

Wow, that was a brilliant write up! If only I had the spare cash! Didnt realise some of the small styling quirks on the M4 very cool to see them compared in this way, good find OP

Well that resulted in a small puddle in front of my keyboard! Fantastic pictures - some shots they seem almost identical.

M3 is still my favourite I think. I like how the extra doors force the flare around the rear wheel to appear pronounced.

I watched this the other day - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wP5z2cJ5aqk
OK, some American fellows but same person, same track, same day, same conditions. Reckon it's something to do with the wheelbase size -M4 is just MASSIVE in a way that the M2 isn't. It is not perfect and has some problems (e.g. the blip on downshift in the manual version). Lovely pocket rocket in my view and having looked closely at one today in Dick Lovett in Brizzle, maybe the grey colour available is better than the blue (although I love that blue...). Priced one up on BMW.co.uk and it came out at £48225, rather than £62215 for the M4. M4 is great, but not for me...and given they have the same engine in a different state of tune, how long will it be before the M2 runs rings around the bigger cars?
Few thoughts there but the truth is that, at this stage, I can't (personally) be doing with huge cars!

Too bad there are some big technical mistakes in that write up regarding the cooling systems. I dont think they did their homework in the tech department. But then again they're chinese buying german tech

Had a ride in an M2 tonight, bloody hell its rapid. Noticeably quicker than an E90 M3, feels a bit like the 1M inside, a touch bigger
