M135/M140i thefts

There seems to be alot of thefts/attempted thefts of these cars at the moment, some 26 members on babybmw have had their motors stolen recently which seems to be on the increase, quite worrying the way these vermin smash their way into your house regardless of whether your home or not.

Mines locked away for the winter thank goodness as I wouldn't like it parked on the drive at night.

I don't think Golfs and S3s are faring much better.

Sign of the sad times :(

Tim.

Anything keyless is pretty much easy pickings these days.

It's shocking tbh and i'm surprised the big vehicle manufacturers have buried their heads in the sand over it.

The sooner they are made to be responsible for it, the better.

I think your safer if you have keyless as at least they're less likely to enter the house. I've got my keys in faraday bags.

Get a couple of land sharks they won't break in then. I have 2 Doberman that will make the scrotes think twice about breaking into my house.

or you'll loose your car and dogs :) it's been known for them to poison dogs with food through the letter box etc

Or you get done for the planned injuries to poor defenseless burglars by having the dogs in the first place.

At least my gates stops any would be burglar from stealing the cars themselves.

I would get done as they might get tetanus if they cut themselves :o

The thing with the dogs is more the barking and noise attracting attention, making it easier to steal someone else's car. And don't get me started on all the protections Burglars have utterly stupid.

Not sure about that - if my dog barks at night, I am downstairs within seconds so if anyone was trying to steal a car I would have a better chance to stop them (with any legalish means that is).

From the few pics you’ve posted on here of your house Paul the kind of guys that try to break in I’d suggest would be fairly well equipped, have some idea of the cost of vehicles you might have, and more than just one of them, not just ‘chancers’. For the sake of an insured car I’d let them get on with it, much as that chokes. A crow bar, knife, or gun in the head is simply not worth it. I’ve been bottled and hit with a thick motorcycle chain defending my old MR2, it’s not a pleasant experience and that was just parked on the street.

Worth a thought my friend.

Hopefully it’ll never happen though obviously.

The keys to my M135i are left on the kitchen work top. The last thing I want is to confront intruders when my little boy is asleep in his nursery. They can take the damn car in peace.
