M Track mode

I know there is various threads over the years on how to enable it but they all use various software which requires being downloaded from various dodgy sites / ebay vendors.

I do have a copy of INPA and SSS Progman. Can I enable M track mode using any of them, or doing I need to go poking around in the grubby part of the internet?

i did mine myself...... and ive completely forgotten how to do, its allows a fair amount of slip however it still murders rear brake pads

My rear pads are getting pretty worn - maybe it's time to man-up and turn it all off!

After killing a set of rear pads at Goodwood I've always turned everything off for tackdays since.

Mined ewe, they've all been dry ones :)

Same here.

Off in the dry, on in the wet.

Still not got the M-Mode programmed though, and not sure I'd feel confident enough to use it on a wet 'Ring

Don't bother, what people are claiming to enable is not M-Track mode. The MK60E5 in the Z4M is not the same as the MK60 in the E46.

I disagree, if you can code and enable it then why not?

When switched on, it allows wheel spin and slip until you rotate the axis of the car to whatever degree parameter you code it to! With traction control on, this isn’t possible . With traction off, there’s no safety net.

It will of course still catch you out, in the same sense that you could still bin it with DSC on. But it does add a different dynamic to the car, even if just for the road.

I'm not disputing what M-Track does, but there is no such thing as M-Track on the MK60E5 that the Z4M has.

It just the same as the normal Z4 isn't it? It activates "Snow mode", by turning off traction control but keeping stability control, which is a kind of half way house.

Then what have I coded?
With full DSC switched on, it (mostly) prevents wheel spin and interferes very early when the car starts to slide.
With everything off, there’s no interference.
With “M track mode” enabled, I can spin the rear wheels to my heart’s content without interference from traction control, but it still intervenes if I slide the rear of the car too much. If that isn’t M track mode, what is it?

Like Beedub, I coded it myself but I’ve long forgotten the steps

I use M track mode when driving normally on the road and very rarely experience any interference. However, I always switch everything off on the track, wet or dry - I’d rather have a predictable response at the limit than rely on an archaic system that doesn’t always step in on time (and eats brake pads for breakfast and lunch).

if you know what you are doing, other that coding values from the actual e46 M3 CSL MK60, you are just shooting blind. if someone has those values, should post them here. Physically the CSL MK60 module has a pin to call the M Mode by a switch control. I am sure the programming would be different.

A thread on it, years old. I don’t think anyone is shooting in the dark here, or at least I hope that they’re not.

Slightly baffling thread this.

Without this coding , the traction control / DSC is either on or off on the Z4M.

With the coding, there’s a third setting you can access when toggling with the DSC/TC button. Within the coding, you can input the yaw angle for when the DSC will intervene, and hopefully pull the car back in line. Before you reach this, there’s no intervention.

Call it what you like if not track mode, but it’s an additional mode that would have been nice to have out of the factory?!
