///M top speed

Whatever...... it's not enough.... it's never enough...

Ye Tis, front started getting lighter above about 160. Would need to change the aero on the Roadster to go faster. Just don't put the roof up.

Seen 168mph (270km/h) in 6th on Autobahn, then stock as far as I'm aware of.
(dunno if previous owners reprogrammed anything)

Front end much more planted with front spoiler! :)

I suspect having the roof down is what did it. Must create a little more drag and lift. No figures to verify that, just empirical observation. :)

No limiter on the Alpina, and an official top end of 169mph (172mph with the hard top fitted). Would expect a delimited ///M to be something similar.

Not my picture, but one posted in a previous discussion about V max:

I've seen an indicated 175mph previously but ran out of road / bravery. I wouldn't expect much more even with the limiter removed.

I've had clocks sitting at/just above 180, GPS showing 178mph on the autobhan last year. I assume this means there is no limiter on mine but nothing in the paperwork about having any kind of performance pack :?

Only 2mph speedo error at that speed is highly impressive, has it been corrected through the software? :o

Has been mentioned many times before.

In 5th, the speedo will show about 175mph, and gps shows about 167mph.

In 6th, the speedo shows about 165mph, and gps about 156mph.

All done on the autobahn between Nurburg & Trier.

BTW, my Alfa does 130mph (supposed to max at 120mph), but takes a hell of a lot longer to slow down when a truck pulls out in front of it :x

Is that soft limiter also applied to non m? Say 3.0 coupe? I'm taking mine to Terminal velocity event in July.. on a 2mi runway so I'd like to max out and I wonder what gear is best to attempt it at.. I'm not expecting m top speed but 155 would be nice.

Had my 3.0si past 145 in 5th & still climbing-6th is very tall almost like an overdrive. Id say leave it in 5th and let it sing :)
Rob

I can not condone this sort of driving but can confirm he did do it officer ! I know for sure because I was chasing a pastry who was following him !

Leave it in fifth for limiter bypass .

My 330i E90 hit the limiter at an indicated 163mph. Surprisingly easily too!

I didn't do it there, I only reached 70mph that day (its all I needed to blow the doors off pastry's 23i :poke: )
I've got a very long driveway & hit that speed before I reached the road :P

It was at 180ish but was only glancing so could have been a bit higher, at that speed i was focused on the road not the speedo :driving:
I'm not aware of any sort of correction having been carried out, given that I came to Z4s from having owned Renault Clios I just assumed the accuracy was one of the benefits of going German

Which is why I changed it for a 3.0i and then an ///M. You must remember how it feels Rob, having to pick up your doors every time you tried it on at the tolls in France :poke:

Really, and I suppose lighting up the rear wheels was to scrub off some rubber.... for weight saving  :poke:
