Just phoned my local stealer to get quotes for Oil Service and brake Fluid Change. I jokingly said you'll need to and on the ///M Tax to which he replied

"I think our system adds it on automatically"

Made me laugh. :D

Must be nice getting ready to bring her out into the world again

I'm really looking forward to it. one of it's first trips will be for a service.

Local stealer quoted £287 all in or supply my own oil and deduct £108

ETA MotorSport want £194 all in or supply own oil and deduct £99

Local stealer will price match, and if I can my stealer down to about £220-£230 they can have the work. I'm sure they will

Remember to tell them to NOT charge you environmental charge, as that is £20 again.

I got the oil changed with filter in the X5 for £49 by supplying my own oil. It started of at £90, but once I deducted the 10% BMW discount, the removal of the old oil environmental charge it was a much better £49.

So you take the old oil away then. (Which is fine by me as it doesn't cost £20 to take to the tip)

Srhutch - interested; do you tax and insure for summer months then sorn and claim back annual insurance or some other way?

Sorry to go off topic. Good result if you can get the stealer to price match btw

I tell them that I will take the oil back, but they never bother giving it to me and just take it off the bill.

I keep it insured but send the tax back. Refund at end of Oct was 153 quid so well worth doing. Means I only have to find another 300 quid or so to tax each year. Don't think there is any way to reduce insurance over the winter and certainly wouldn't risk no insurance.
