M Steering Wheel Spokes - Vinyl Wrapable?

Hi Guys,

The spokes on my sport steering wheel are looking a little tatty (non multi function), are they removable? And could they be vinyl wrapped?

Cheers :)

Yes they are removable and wrappable
Disconnect the battery
Wait 15 mins and take the airbag off (2 spring clips and 2 connectors
Remove the wheel with a single bolt

Each of the spokes can be removed by undoing its securing torx and then splitting the 2 halves.
Care with the spokes as it's easy to break the post that the torx screw into on the opposite part of the trim...

I'd leave wrapping to a pro as it has some interesting curves but worth a try if you have time and patience

If it were me I'd buy a scrap set of trims and have them done while the car is still in use.

they are £105 from the delaer, you have to buy all 6 parts, i sprayed mine satin black and i'm happy with them.

I thought they might be abit awkward to wrap, especially the bottom spoke. I'd give it a go myself first though.

I don't know whether to just do them in standard black or go for carbon fibre, what do you guys think? Would carbon spokes look abit out of place with no carbon elsewhere maybe? I've got dream red leather sport seats and the brushed aluminium trim.

Actually jamie if I go for plain black I'd probably take your route and just give them a rub down and paint.

I have the same interior combo and when I updated my wheel stuck to silver. Nothing wrong with cf but IMHO you need to do several bits like door handles, console, dash, etc. to maintain a theme.

Agree - if you go for carbon trim do the lot
