Hi,

I have a multi function steering wheel already, just wondered about the benefits of an M. I can't seem to find any posts on the benefits.

I also notice the M, is purely black, whereas my multirfunction has chrome spokes, which I would like to retain.

(yes I know im looking to sell my car, but part of my brain is selling another another part just wants to keep upgrading :P)

The M Sport wheel is virtually the same outer diameter as the regular wheel, but it is much thicker and has a slightly spongy feel to it.

The M wheel just has a far better feel to it and actually improves the driving experience.

The Multi Function spokes are a direct fit but the Bottom one is different but the standard can be made to fit with a little bit of fettling.

I'm just finishing a project on a genuine ///M steering wheel with MF and some more goodies and as a part of it will be using silver trims as I happen to prefer them to the all black.

Only recently a convert to the better feel of the ///M wheel over the standard.

Where is the best place to buy one? ebay? or dealer? Any link to one on ebay as they have loads on there, and a little confusing lol.

As Herminator said, same size, but thicker and better feel. It is odd how much better it feels to use.

I bought a bald proper M wheel (tri colour stitching) from eBay, you can then swap the spokes over. It's pretty easy - the side spokes are a direct swap, it is just the bottom spoke that's a little different. Or you can buy and M sport wheel - all black for about £220 from Soper. You may want to consider this, it's a straight swap and you may be able to get a decent amount for yours as a complete wheel with MF spokes.

If you look at Sideshowbob's How To...
How to retrofit M Steering Wheel with Multi Function Control
This shows the M sport wheel.

On Page 2:
There is a picture of the standard and M wheels side by side.
A picture of my M wheel with the standard spokes - unmodified, fitted with brute force. Not the best approach.

Only thing I would say, is be very patient getting the existing spokes off, the lugs are quite fragile.

Hope that helps. A great mod.

i think i actually prefer the look of the m wheel with the silver spokes.. matches the speedo cowel and door grab handles!

I wasn't sure with mine at first, but now really like the silver and that it all matches...
