M-sport steering wheel touch up

A previous owner appears to have touched up the metal parts of my steering wheel as in left/right of the buttons and bottom M badge area using some random black paint, it looks like the metal had been bubbling a little or something and to cover it up tried to touch up using black paint.
I want to get my steering wheel re-trimmed but the condition of the metal parts is a bit annoying and guess will be even more so if get the leather re-trimmed and all new but these areas.

Seems other types steering wheels can buy new plastic trims but for this M-sport I’m not sure what to do to resolve, any advice , hints n tips on doing so ?
Cheers

The spoke covers are plastic and can be repainted. There’s a few how-to’s on here showing you how. Alternatively, you could have a professional upholsterer respray them with soft-touch material. This is all but identical to the original finish.

Some people have plasti-dipped them, but personally I find the finish to be too textured and rough. Matter of taste, naturally.
