I don't get people who want to sell stuff but won't let it shift.
It's like me offering my old seats for £600. I know they won't sell, so £250 takes the lot, pickup or organise your own courier, no offers... bam. They would go and I'd be rid of them.
I don't get why people go to all the hassle of arsing around for months trying to sell something that won't sell for what they are asking... hey ho.
Personally for that money I'd rather get BMW Performance seats, or Recaro ones, and then keep my old ones to sell on with the car.

I guess it's a case that sometimes something isn't worth selling unless you can get a certain amount for it.
I have my original M seats sat in my back room of my flat. They look brand new. I'd be tempted to sell them but tbh, I also want to keep them as I like the option of returning the car to standard when the time comes to sell the car on (since the Recaro seats will likely not be to everyone's taste/requirements).
Therefore if I were to sell them they'd have to go for a price that would make it worthwhile for me, and also make up for the reduced saleability/value of my car later in life, otherwise it's not worth it.

I wish that worked. I think my car is worth £15,000, so someone SHOULD buy it for that eventually
I know what you're saying. I guess I don't think £1k is a bad price for M-seats. I would expect that for mine at least, otherwise, again it's not worth selling. When you price them up new from BMW, they come in around £2k a seat, so it's not like thats not a fair price. Considering you also don't get them come up for sale very often either..
Yeah. I think when these cars were worth more, like when G Watson bought his, his car was worth £20,000.
Since most owners who want them will be pre-facelift owners, the cars are worth near half that, so suddenly even £1,000 for seats feels like a lot!
Ultimately, the market dictates what they are worth. Whether as a seller you are prepared to sell them for that though, vs what they are worth to you, is a different thing entirely... I don't blame you for not wanting to sell, if I were in your position I'd hold on or want £2000... but I'd then realise no one would spend that much when you could just upgrade to an Si model for not much more with them in as standard

Mr Whippy, fair comment on that.
If these seat were cleaned with a proper matt finish leather cleaner/cream then they would maybe have sold. At the moment they look dodgy, but it's really just a shiny leather care product that is making them look bad.
Conditioned, photo taken outside with no flash, they'd look fine.

They turned out ok imho. They still need some professional work, but even £200 lavished on the pair would see total cost at £450!
I agree I was lucky, but as more Si's head for breakers as their values drop and they get written off, same with M's, the more of these seats there will be around to get for cheaper and cheaper prices
