M Sport Seats Heated

I swapped from basic sport sears to the M sport seats years ago. The basic seats’ front edge felt too low and the M seats’ ability to separately raise the front surely provides better thigh support, in addition to the forward-moving edge.

While I was still searching for the M seats I had a plan B to modify the manual basic seats base with some parts from the manual M seats base, specifically by adding seat angle adjustment parts. Still have the seats in storage and might use them some day, but foremost, this could be a nice mod for forum comrades stuck with the basic seats. Patriot66 & Street, any chance you could snap some photos of how the seat adjuster parts look on the manual M seat base? Especially the torsion spring thingy is of interest.

Is having electric seats really that important, how often do you guys change your seats position, I know I stick to just the one. Why is all this significance put on electric this and that, its simply more things to go wrong.

Agree fully. I only ever move my seat to get around and under when vacuuming, so electric adjustment just doesn't matter to me. As long as the heaters work that'll do for me

When I had electric seats I used to use the memory function to save commuting, track, and public road hooning positions.

I did a lot of all of those, so the right position for the right style of driving was quite important to me.

Yes, I could have got the seat into those positions with a manual seat, but I'd be constantly adjusting it to find the perfect position for each every time I changed something.

The Pole Position ABE only allow me to slide (unless I unbolt them), so I have them all the way back for commuting and closer to the wheel for fast road/track.

I did find them really useful years ago when Mrs Tidy used to drive my car sometimes, but nobody else gets to drive my Z4!

I'd only bother now for the sake of originality as all 3 litres and Ms had them as standard.

Its tough to match that adrenaline rush as you put your foot on the brake and the manual seat latch clicks home.
That split second of confusion as you wonder if you've been hit or whether you're heading for the windscreen..

With electric, you dont get the core body workout either as you thrust your butt in all directions trying to find perfection!
Never use a getaway car with electric seats either.. it offers milimeter precision but it just takes an hour to move the seat back!
