M Sport MFSW or Royals Re-trim

Hi all, I'm looking to upgrade my steering wheel from the standard wheel to something with a nicer feel. I have a E85 3.0i

I like the look of the M Sport wheel with the Multi-functional Controls or alternatively sending my wheel off to Royals for a retrim.

Can you still get a Brand New M Sport Wheel and where did you get one from and costs? Anyone have a friendly parts guy at a BMW Dealer that can do one with some discount?

Believe I also need a retro fit cable to get the multi function controls to work as my car was registered Sept 03.

Thanks in Advance

The Royals re-trim is a fraction of the cost of a new M wheel and is why many take that route. I had mine done by Royals and loved it, but that was because I couldn't justify the cost of a second hand M wheel. The M wheels that did come up on eBay were around the £300 - £400 mark and showed their age. I managed to buy a mint second hand one on the forum for £220, which is why I sold my Royals.
If money wasn't a factor you cant beat the feel of an M wheel :driving:

New M wheels are available from this German supplier, I believe some members have bought from here and been very happy:

Here' a new M Sport MFSW not cheap:

I recommend this place in Germany http://leder-lenkrad.de/shop/ if you're considering a retrim. They're on ebay too. They did mine and I'm made up with the job they've done.

I think it worked out at about £150. I wanted the full tuning option (thumb molds on the bottom sections as well as the top) but they only did it on standard wheels, and since mine is the M wheel they did tuning on the top half and beefed up the bottom half. The full tuning option on a standard wheel is 189 EUR.

Edit: They've actually dropped in price on ebay https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-E85-...410646?hash=item4647543116:g:wtMAAOSwoydWkj4h

You can either send them your steering wheel to retrim, or if you don't want to be without a steering wheel for day to day running you can put down a deposit, they will send you a fully retrimmed steering wheel. Once you've received the new one you send your old steering wheel back to them and get your deposit back.

It's just another option, something a bit different to the usual Royals retrim. If I had a standard wheel I'd definitely go for the full tuning option from this place. Nice chunky feel to it.

Here's mine:
