anyone know the ngk spark plugs neededfor the m. and also if they're easy to change, believe they have coils on top, also afe they under the cam cover on the s54, did my s50 ones a few years ago but cant remember much, any tricky bits or easy diy ?thanks

RealOEM or bmwfans websites are your friends for these things. The OEM spark plugs are NGK DCPR8EKP. You just need to remove the coil pack on each plug and then you've got access to the plugs in each cylinder.

thanks exdos, does the cam cover come off for access and do i need a gasket or is there another cover inside. thanks, will look on oem too.

Yes, you remove the black plastic cylinder head cover (the part held by 6 chrome nuts with the oil filler cap). That part is purely cosmetic to make the engine look good. There are coil packs sitting on top of the spark plugs so don't expect to see the old-fashioned spark plug leads and spark plugs.
