As per the title. I'm looking for a good indi near Plymouth/Saltash for an inspection 2 on my Z4M\\\ roadie.

Presently I use http://scgautos.co.uk/ , know's his BMWs, an ex Ocean mechanic, runs it, ironically. But they don't have the kit for a full Ins 2, on an M\\\.

I used Ocean for the Ins 1 and it felt like a total rip off. Plus treated like a turd, by their staff and the car came back dirtier than when I dropped it off. So never going there again.

I've found, http://www.bmgcarsales.co.uk/, but know nothing about them. Any one used them?

Is the place in Exeter too far?

I've got a quote for £1100, from Westerly in Exeter, Ins 2 & brake fluid. Hoping someone can batter that. Plus know idea if they are any good.

Don't blame you. I've a quote of £700 for exactly the same from a local BMW Indi. I also reckon I get get my local stealer to price match. Will call then in a couple of weeks.

Could try this guy. He's an old school friend. He trained at BMW and started up his own place years ago. He must be doing something right as he's just got himself a V10 Audi R8

Personally had no problems with Ocean but aren't so willing to drop the known to be unreal price of the Inspection 2 service.
I have used BMG, albeit some years ago now to work on an E30 M3 - not sure they will have the ability to do valve stuff though for an inspection 2. They were based in Newnham then, near Victor Barrys.
I've read about a place near Ivybridge or Lee Mill that specialist in BMW's and seem recommended but cannot remember the name but a googlemight reveal it.
Ultimately you want an M specialist to work on it, or I'd rather take to BMW.

I'd also recommend Paddock, John. Good excuse for a blast across the moors there and back too eh

had my ins 2 at paddock and wrote a review, excellent service, highly reccomended. under £550 too, had my rear diff flange seal done recently and again, first class job.

Thanks for the feed back guys. I have spoken to several garages over the past week and finished up where I started, http://www.bmgcarsales.co.uk,

A colleague at work recommended them, though he drives a 318 cab, not a Zed.
They had an ///M Ins2 Specifically listed and priced on the website.
The girl, well lady. on the desk was helpfull & got a tech to call me back.
He clearly knew what he was talking about.
So today after work I dropped in. Same story girl behind the desk, is older than she sounds on the phone, but just as helpful. Tech came out and chatted for ten minutes about Zeds & ///Ms. They have done several roof motors.
Plus there was an M5 in the shop being worked on.

So all good signs and enough for me to book my baby in.

Nice. How much for a Insp 2 there then?

Had my ins 2 yesterday. http://www.bmgcarsales.co.uk

43k miles. They did an Ins 1 on it last week and the Diff & Gearbox Oil this week. Due to a mix up on their part. But as we agreed I needed another set of front disks and pads, the car was going back any way, so no extra hastle. Over all I was very happy with the service.

Hire Car £3.50
Ins 2 £508.08
Front Disks & Pads £668.15

Obviously bedding in the breaks but the car feels great for a little TLC. :D
