M service

Hi all,

I want to get my z4 m serviced. I live in Oxford. Any suggestions? I will get the big service done. Car has covered 63k.

Am willing to travel but prefer nearby.

Simon

At 63k your car should have already had its big service (usually between 45k & 55k).
To know what the car needs you need to follow the regime as in
Oil service
Ins 1
Oil service
Ins 2 & repeat

Try Evolve Automotive in Luton.

Imran will take care of you.

Hi, yes I mean inspection 2. It had an oil service last year.

I’ll check the service book. I had an engine warning light come on a while back which promptly disappeared and I’m sure it’s not as quick s it was so I need that sorting.

I’ve only taken it to the Zed shed since owning and that’s a fair run for a service for me although he knows these cars well.

The Zed place as in St Helens?

Yes in St Helens.

He relocated my roof motor and cleared my phone details so I could use Bluetooth.

My car had insp 2 at 46k so I just need insp 1. I may try Mark Purcell as he is local?

Anyone used him?

Thanks

Whoever you choose worth asking first question , "what does your ins1 cover on my Z4M S54"?
That should indicate how well they know them.
Ins1 is effectively ins2 less the fluid change for diff & gearbox so valve clearance check required

If your in Oxford, easy choice, Darragh at Everything M3’s in Banbury. You won’t hear a bad word said about him and knows these engines inside out.

Don’t forget spark plugs aren’t included in Inspection I either Andy :P

This is a useful thread. My car is on 52k miles and apparently had an INSP II from a specialist @49k last year. Called them up and some of the things they described on the car weren't accurate (i.e. modifications they remembered which my car didn't have). Should I get a II done ASAP rather than go through the process of oil change and then INSP I? The indy it went to couldn't send me a breakdown of the service they did because of GDPR apparently....

Have left a message with Darragh. Only way to contact him is via Facebook it seems, oh the modern world.

Will give him a try as it’s a long way to St Helens with a noisy roof!

Need to fall in love with the z again as keep thinking of going back to a 911. I think my car is down on power so it’s money well spent.

My car is booked in with darragh at everything M3 30th July surprised you have not been able to get in touch with him.

Sorry to respond so late to this thread. If you want anything done on a BMW around Oxford, Mark Purcell is the most reliable specalist by a long shot. They have just moved to new premises a few week ago and I actually had to take my Z4MR in as the aircon was not working, even though the system was fully gassed. They spent a few hours going over the car and thanks to good attention to detail, they spotted a wire that had come undone. They were almost going to admit defeat and order in a new A/C compressor.

When my old man still had his E46 M3 Individual, he would always take it Mark or his right hand man, John.

Problem is I can’t an inspection 2 and Mark doesn’t do that. Plus I suspect my Vanos needs new seals.

I’m thinking of getting the kit and doing the Vanos myself but can’t seem to find exactly what I need.
