Hello,
First post, Just brought a Black Z4M Coupe and am loving it! although i am getting to know the staff in my local petrol station allot better :D
The car is just about to hit 24,000 miles and i believe is in need of an inspection 1 service (gulp), Dicklovett in Wiltshire are doing a price match on services including matching specialist prices as long as they are listed in the yellow pages.
Anyone think or know of anywhere good so i can get the price matched?

I obtained a price from a specialist and three dealers for my oil service, expected specialist to be around £200 as main dealers wanted £290, but specialist wanted £260.

So will be interesting to see what you come up with.

Sorry how rude of me, welcome and :worthless: :D

My specialist has quoted 1 hour's labour plus filters & fluids.

I supply my own oil, so it'll be about £70.

Guys you are giving prices for Oil Services? OP seems to need Insp 1 on an M (which fits at 24k miles)?

Just posted this on another thread, but call Cotswolds BMW, they will quote £600 inc VAT. Labour is apparently 5-5.5 hours, and it should go in the night before so the engine is stone cold (they should be checking valve clearances and it needs to be cold). Then get your dealer to price match (I was surprised mine did and they are 200 miles from Cotswolds). There is a guy one the M Torque forum who works for Battersea BMW and says he will get them to match it for forum members too but that was after I had already done it somewhere else....

If you can get them to match an Indy, try Thorney Motorsport. They do insp 1 for £485 ish...good luck on that!

I have found a place that meets all the criteria 50miles of the garage, genuine bmw parts, in the yellow pages etc
but they are refusing to price match it because its too cheap
Its through a company called Emtec in Salisbury and the quoted 'The cost of an Inspection 1 service for your Z4M is £253.49 including labour, parts, oils and VAT at 15%' Not sure why they put 'We guarantee to price match all Specialist and local Dealer quotes for all servicing and repair items* for the brands that we represent.' when they clearly don't. Any lawyers on the forum lol

That price can't be right, sounds more like a non M (common mistake when you phone). Parts alone on the M cost about £250-280 IIRC...so they would do the work for free and damn near make a loss on the parts?

I remember being quoted £120 for new discs on my old M3; they had quoted me for 330 items. M3 discs? More like £300

Parts ain't that much are they Steve? I thought more like £140 :?

The Guy on Mtorque Matt is a sound guy and he has a lovely M3.

I know that Emtec are very cheap.

£280 did sound high to me but thats what I've been told previously. If it's £140 thats still only £110 in labour (an hour at BMW prices LOL)

well if you check there site it says Z4M it says £260..... http://www.emtecsalisbury.com/prices.htm

Amazing price if it's accurate, nearly £300 inc the VAT but that's at best £150 for labour, which is 5-5.5 hours?

If it's true, it shows just what a rip off genuine servicing has become...

Why is the price different for an E46 M3? Essentially the same car from a servicing point of view?

Just had a look at your web link Mike, you are mental but the very best of luck with your trip.

Can you not pay the extra £2000 for engine size and take the ZM?

Sorry for the hijack but you have to click on Mike's link on his signature.

The car gets donated to a local charity at the end of the trip, so I guess the answer is

LOL cheers guys, I think the Z4M is not ideal for traversing the Gobi. The Accent, obviously, is designed for it :)
