M Seats Vs Normal

I always thought the thinner seatbelt guide looked like it had something missing, not an improvement in my eyes.

When I'm wanting a really spirited drive I bring the back of my seat forward to make me sit more upright, being 6ft2 though my seat position is generally as far back and down as possible without it squeaking on the sub panel.

I only found out yesterday my stereo is the Carver system  I've only owned it 3years ...

just seen the seats on this coupe, only the 2nd time ive ever seen it (wasnt even aware of it untill GuidoK mentioned it above)

i wonder why certain cars have it, what spec option it was etc?

What I can see is that that car also has the extended leather option, just as I have.
And looking at the bmw parts info, extended leather for the coupe is always new england or walknappa (or individual, but thats usually also extended leather)
So it's either one of those (or both).

I have seen these seats also in cars without extended leather, but that could also be a retrofit of course.

Too bad that ads usually dont have vin numbers, otherwise one can look up what kind of leather etc.

My new M seats :)

Hi can somebody tell me what extended leather includes please. (Just done a search and couldn't find anything) . We have the"normal seats" with the New England leather option in dream red with piano black dash etc.
The car has the leather door cards, is that it.? Many thanks.

This For Sale Zed has extended leather, see pics: http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=83679&p=1240061&hilit=extended+leather#p1240061

Actually it's walknappa.
All z4m seats are either new england or walknappa depending on color. (according to bmw parts list)

For the M Roadster:
Leather Roll hoops, (don't think this option is available for non-M Roadsters)
Leather Door cards (full)
Leather Center console
Leather front window and map light surround
Leather Vanity Mirrors

Unfortunately the pics are now gone, but hopefully you get the idea.

I'm just gonna come out and say it - I think there are 3 versions for E85/86 series cars. Normal seats - these you slide around in. M-Sport seats - no idea what cars they featured on and I have little interest in the SE/Si/"sport" debate/debacle - these appear to have bigger bolsters. The M has different seats again. I recently compared my M seats against M-Sport seats and there is a noticeable difference in both shape, bolster depth and the leather stitching patterns. I think M seats hardly ever come up for sale but M-Sport are far more frequently available.

Thanks, input from someone who considers the topic beneath himself is really helpful!

FWIW the first Z4C I drove was an SE, and the seats looked totally out of place in a car like that, so I bought an Si Sport (stevo apparently doesn't know/doesn't care as the topic is too run of the mill for his preciousness) but from my humble perspective I would not want SE seats in any Z4 - but then I wouldn't want the pretentiousness of an M model either as I don't want to appear like I am trying to disappear up my 4 tailpipes!
