M seats and cornering

This is really starting to bug me now, I just don't seem to be getting enough support from the M seats while cornering.

And oddly it seems that I'm only falling out of the left hand side :? I do have a bad back so I'm wondering whether I am subconsciously sitting at an angle to protect it.

How do you find the cornering support in your M?

I really like the seats in my M but think they could do with a bit more support around the top 3/4 of the seat.

I also find there not enough higher-back/shoulder support in the Z4M seats, and I have the same issue as you when turning right with any force!

No problems in mine, but then again I used to have the standard seats in which I was sliding.

In absolute terms they are not that supportive. The new seats I've fitten in an XF have inflatable side bolsters and once they along with many other adjustments are set, you are rock solid in the seat. Downside is they are seriously heavy...

I find the M seats great around my love handles but poor around the shoulders. My GF's VXR has Recaro wingbacks which are a different class.

I find the problem to be around the ribcage area. Is there such thing as comfy Recaros or are they all like the CSL buckets?

I find them less supportive than the seats in my 320d M Sport, but they have inflatable bolsters so you can get them really snug. I'm quite slim, so I do find I move around a bit in the Z4M.

+1 with the seats in the Alpina, except I'm probably not as slim, more stocky!! :D

You can try the seat belt "locking" method. Takes a bit of practice to do but not difficult. Lean the seat back just a bit from your normal driving position and then by sharply pulling the seat belt lock it in place, then lean the seat back forwards again to your normal position. If you get it right the seat belt will remain locked and as your leaning forwards it will squeeze you on the seat holding you tightly in place. Takes some practice to find the sweet spot of not too much or too few pressure but it works OK i guess. A lot cheaper than buying new seats in any case. :P

I love how they look with the thight support and edged ///M logo. BUT they are rock hard, weight loads (apparently) are uncomfortable (6ft4) as hell after a couple of hours and useless on the circuit. Not great at communicating whats going on either.

Can't wait to ge rid of them but good quality bucket replacements are expensive + you get the airbag issue...

What to do?
