m rear axle

Hi all,
I have a chance to get a rear axle and diff out of an M3. My question was; will the rear axle fit on my 2003 z4 3.0 or should i just install the diff. I know it's a lot of work, but I've done this before on other cars, I just want to know if the rear will fit without cutting and welding.. Thanks guys ...
 
Graeme Watson did this to his car years ago, before there were M versions. You will need the entire rear subframe to transfer it over, but it doesn't require cutting or welding, iirc. The car was written up in Total BMW a while back, if you want to check their back issues.
