Hi guys off to see a Z4 2.5 i sport tomorrow [sunday 17th]. My son has realised thru this forum that a straight six is the way to go. :D

It is at an independent car dealer, and they have had an mot on it today sat 16th. Car passed with the following:
Advisory notice item(s)
nearside front lower Suspension arm has slight play in a pin/bush rear bush (2.4.G.2)
offside front lower Suspension arm has slight play in a pin/bush rear bush (2.4.G.2)
slight free play in hand brake adjustment.

Is all of the above easy to fix? What kind of cost is involved in sorting out the play in the two front bushes?

If we agree a deal, should i get them to sort it?

Thanks
Tom.

Handbrake cable replacement is a big job if it's stretched. Had to do mine earlier in the year and it took a day in the garage.

Bushes aren't big jobs. Any decent garage would replace those in a couple of hours.

If it's the front wishbone rear bush, also known as lollypop bushes, then they're quite easy to replace.

I got those replaced with polybushes, along with rear trailing arm bushes and a 4 wheel hunter alignment for £280.

Both easy fixes. I'd get the garage to do both an re MOT before buying.

Front wishbones and bushes are standard items that need replacing. Best to do the wishbones and trailing bushes (lollipops)
Doubt you'll need a new handbrake cable as it's most likely just adjustment. Fiddly through wheel bolt hole, but easy. If you do then as above difficult.

I've had advisories on both front wishbones (excessive play) for two years. Independent garage (Munich Legends) said hardly any play, not enough to warrant advisory. Plus it's been checked when I had the alignment done (hunter).
Sometimes advisories are nothing to worry about.
