I think I would 100% / definitely see the one owner car first...and you would also have other options of selling it on to a dealer like Hexagon, who love to retail a one owner car at £10k more than market price.

Guess it all comes down to budget and priorities on that one, if you were looking at the top end of the market and you've got that extra dough then fair play, I would rather splurge that extra money on engine mods personally

Interesting musings from a new owner's PoV.

A lot of my "forum friends" have moved on to bigger and better things from our lowly start in Clios - however, so many seem to have moved on to S/RS Audis and ///M cars, found the running costs to not be those of a Renault Sport and quickly sold the cars on.

I would suggest another consideration of high owner numbers is just that - ///M tax for parts.

Either way, as has been said, you buy on condition - my S3 feels more together at 94k than my Clio did at 9.4k...

In a way it's all meaningless. One one could have thrashed it every drive from cold. Where as 6 owners could have cherished it :idunno:

I have always thought this too and there isn't anyway of telling, I suppose most people think if its only a one or two owner car then its more likely to be cherished but its an old fashioned view maybe.

I have always tried to go for low owner cars but as others have said a Z4M is a toy/weekend car to some people and they tick the box and then move onto something else so that`s how the owner count goes up.

As said always buy on condition is the key...I purchased a one owner TVR in mint condition...that never stopped going wrong so it doesn't always work out as you want it too! :lol:

All more owners mean is it's more likely that one owner has abused it - but for a shorter amount of time, or one owner has cherished it and done everything that was needed and somethings that maybe weren't quite yet.

So buy on Condition

And the colour you like. Buy on condition/price/mileage/service history/colour

mind you, I was put off buying my last car, an 04 CTR as it had 11 owners....that for me was just too many

There was a video kicking about with the Enzo.
If I remember correctly it was a farmer with a lot of money ragging it around his property.
With the state of the road he would have been better with a rally car.

I am in the camp of I'll look at the car and the current owner first, before the number of owners on a log book. If that's the only point steering me away from a car, something's wrong.

I've seen 911s with owners in the teens. I would only get really concerned if it was more than one owner per year. An annual change isn't unlikely for a car which is probably a 2nd or 3rd car for most people, especially those with the money to buy them in the first couple of years.
