M market watch

Did you manage to see it? What did you think of it?
Yes I went to see it.

It was a really good one no question. Very, very clean, all the right servicing, low miles, drove well, been cared for and stored inside for the past 10 years.

I just didn’t love the interlagos blue colour enough so I passed on it.

He won’t budge on price but had it been the right colour I’d have wanted it for sure.

It’s a great car for someone looking for that colour.

in case anyone looking
sapphire black over imola red 55k miles
discs suggests little recent use but good colour combo and has piano black trim and heated seats no sat nav

what does flimper mean?
i thought the porsche lot were option sensitive but you lot are also mad about spec

It was originally meant to mean a car with no sat-nav...as that's what member @flimper bought!

But it now simply means a car with no/few desirable options.

I expect a previous owner just swapped out the wood for piano trim.

ok i get it
well i intentionally sought a car with no sat nav and its poverty spec too - heated seats and thats it

Well, I didn't buy mine because it had sat-nav, as I didn't find the BMW system particularly good (i.e. traffic info was terrible and I couldn't add custom POIs or do full postcode search)...and I've used TomTom and Garmin sat-navs for decades.

But the car/computer/radio settings are easier to see/access via the bigger screen.

It was something I invented many, many years ago (15 or so?). It means, besides not having satnav, also not having BT or any of the other options (heated seats, HIFI etc, to be fair, flimper has extended leather and folding mirrors but I ignored that for convenience :p).

On one of our road trips, it was cemented as flimper missed the exit (as he didn't have satnav) and we couldn't call him as he didn't have BT).

I am guessing that it is that straightforward as well - just quite funny to me that the dealer has it up with the wood finish listed even though it has clearly been swapped out!

As I have said many times before flimper spec is perfectly fine as long as the car has something else special about it (eg condition, mileage, provenance, history or say extended leather or an unusual colour. ZMs are drivers cars not a tech fest

It must be LF78553. The only one in this combination, well until changed.

I think the Madeira trim is an aberration somehow. According to Tony's database only three M Coupes came to the UK with Madeira trim. Two in Silver Grey and the other one in Interlagos Blue. Somehow I doubt anyone had one repainted in Black!

I bought my M roady from them 9yrs ago, we were chatting and the sales guy asked if their pricing was right as I’d had a couple of M’s before, he admitted they didn’t know too much about M’s, so maybe they’ve done some research since…🧐

Barney from classic Heroes told me this one sold yesterday. Was a good one!

I always wondered where that came from. Knew it's meaning but not it's origin. Nice one PVR.
