M market watch

Nope, M's have a ZF gearbox, not that it really matters.

bang on - ZF gearbox in the M. It's actually stronger than the Getrag in the E46 M3 out of interest.... again not that it matters particularly!

It's the (essentially) same gearbox that is also used in the non M z4, also used amongst others in cars like the mighty 118d :)

The e46M3 does use a getrag box, I believe it's not possible to fit that in the z4 chassis, happy to be corrected though.

You wonder why the left luggage panel's been out

It had Bilsteins fitted a few years ago, so maybe the trim didn't go back right!

Just noticed it's wearing over-sized tyres for some reason, although I suppose they will protect the rims better.

Anyway 3 bids in the last minute, and it looks like it made £14,860, so with 6% commission that's £15,750. Still the Eventuri intake is probably worth £500!

Approved used Z4MC for £16k, looks like it is one of the very few genuine AC Schnitzer cars:

Says MOA but it has 121,500 miles.

For a car prepped by them to look that tired in the photo's, it must have done a few paper rounds in it's life.

Always worth a look to a buyer though. :)

Looks like a good buy for someone,

This one used to live in the next village from me.

High miles, but could be a good project car for someone. I know Islip Motors very well, they're a trustworthy local village garage, so don't let that put you off.

That Autotrader one looks like a good buy, although the spec is pretty basic with no parking sensors, heated seats, cruise or Sat Nav!

The Pistonheads one must be the cheapest around, but it's done some miles! I wonder if the bearing shells have been replaced yet?

I tried emailing islip to get an idea of what had been done but not had a reply and I’m stuck in Bahrain so can’t even call them
Good to know they’re trustworthy though, I quite like this car...

77k ZMC £18k with "interesting " interior option https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202010084774208?sort=relevance&model=Z4%20M&advertising-location=at_cars&make=BMW&price-to=20000&include-delivery-option=on&onesearchad=Used&onesearchad=Nearly%20New&onesearchad=New&postcode=bb120hr&radius=1501&page=1

don't think there will be many in this combo
e0b0d1793b0245a884eedd675648513e.png

Needs a trip to the trimmers to have that blue dyed black

I’d put money on fact these seats used to be in a non ///M. Pretty sure you could never spec that combo.

In all my time looking at M sport seats, the Ms have the base side supports without panels in them.
So M are just one piece of leather, vs two sections in non Ms.

So yeah... not ideal as I think the leather isn’t as nice quality either?

You're right, genuine M seats don't have a seam in the side bolster, and they have an "M" embossed in the headrest.

The Bi-Colour seats were an option on non-Ms in New England leather, but Ms all had Nappa - although I don't know how they compare in terms of quality.

I’m not sure that the ‘statement M embossed in the headrest’ is true for ALL Ms as my M coupe doesn’t, however my seats are red and black and also have the seams as shown in the photos above and It came like this from new.

If you specified individual leather (ie two tone) you lose the M embossed headrest

Well it looks like I was wrong - again.

I just went and checked my M price list and Bi-Colour seats were a £535 option on the M - which may be why there aren't too many around!

Interesting that they have the extra seam on the bolsters and no M logo on the headrest, which means they are identical to the Bi-Colour seats offered for the non-Ms.

But are the Ms Nappa not New England?
