M market watch

I thought Hexagon had the most optimistic pricing around but it turns out I was wrong. :tumbleweed: :tumbleweed: :tumbleweed:

Around 20k overpriced I’d say. Not to mention a very poor advert for such an optimistic ask.

£40k for a Z4MC on 50k miles with part service history, advertised on a backstreet in Portsmouth.

GTFO!

I actually said out loud Holy f**k when I opened that link and saw the price!

Then looked at the description expecting to see something like 3k miles - 51k with patchy history and advert

If that sells I'll advertise mine for £40k when I sell it soon! :D

I was a bit stunned when I saw the price, especially as I don't like white cars anyway.

And while it may be rare, Sepang Bronze or Phoenix Yellow are even rarer - as well as looking much better!

With part history the seller would be lucky to get 50% of his price for it IMHO.

Wow....that post will massively impact it's sale potential. If the owner is on here, he'll need to get that view sorted before anyone will bid sensible money for it. Also, if you're going to list on CC you'd think you would at least detail the car properly before to give it half a chance :?

I'll reckon that this could go for as little as £11k

6 days to go & already at £10500 8) for once I think you will be well wide of the mark come hammer time
Forum buyers are a minority in my experience & for the most part few do their homework before convincing themselves the one for them is right there.
Interesting one to watch & even more interesting watching subsequent ZMs over the next 6-12months

Andy, I would happily be well wide of the mark on this one...especially given I’ve got a Ruby Black MC to sell

I was at a Porsche meet today and the guys there were saying they’re being called by dealers looking to buy the private cars and paying big money as they’re struggling to get decent stock to flip. It seems very difficult to predict sports car values right now :?

Oh I really wish I was in the market for an MC. This thing is definitely a tasty number!

Yes, but as mr wilks said there are still 6 days to go so like him I'd be surprised if it finished at that price!

At least you've got an E86 to enjoy until you are in the market for an MC. I enjoyed both my 3.0Sis for over 5 years until my MC was advertised just before Christmas last year at a price I couldn't ignore! It's a good time of year to buy but selling in January isn't so good, as I found out with my 3.0Si!

Good to know! I'll be having a baby (well, my wife will...) in Feb so doubt I'll be investing in an MC then, but the si will stay in the family a while yet! :D

Hmmm  the Porsche market is pretty unique in terms of residuals & desirability of certain models , dealers know which ones are attractive to the savvy buyers & spec , miles & colours are crucial to whether a car sits outside for months or sells in days .
I suspect if i tried offloading a 2009 997.2 with 75k non chrono to any decent Porsche dealer the offer would be barely over WBAC & wouldn't be surprised if they wouldn't even take it :o right now the whole performance car market is on shifting sand & suspect by spring 2021 to be seeing 991 911 sub £40k & decent 997.2 well below £30k , id also expect 2.7 981s to be touching £20k within 6 months 8) even 981 3.4 Caymans have dropped below the £30k line they were easily managing to avoid , forum guy "Pastry" just bought a real gem from Ashgoods for well under £30k & there are plenty more 60k ones out there to choose from circa £27k/£28k so anyone buying into one of these at £35k are in for a swift drop if they need to move it on next year . EG https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/202003318807252?radius=1500&year-from=2013&model=CAYMAN&advertising-location=at_cars&sort=price-asc&postcode=bb120hr&onesearchad=New&onesearchad=Nearly%20New&onesearchad=Used&price-to=35000&make=PORSCHE&page=6 lovely car all you would want in a 981 but fastforward 12 months i think you would struggle to see £28k
My cash is stashed where i can get it  i'm happy to sit out the next 6 months with the Si coupe while i watch the whole M2/M4/981/911 market unravel & should something waft under my nose on a cold wet miserable day in December then who knows
