M market watch

All my figures are on the non S & in the time I've been viewing its the high spec high priced S models that are the ones stood standing on forecourts for months.
It's personal choice , there's no way on earth I'd ever consider a convertible 911 but some like them.

The mid spec 2.7s once around £26k do seem to sell so that would indicate their market value to me.
The PSE is easily reproduced for a few hundred pounds so that isn't a deal breaker to me
I do agree on the red though., a stand out colour I'd choose over white but in the 981 silver seems to show its design off best , black on the other hand is hard to distinguish it from the previous model unless you're a avid fan of the cars.

The figures stack up

Look at the cheapest 981’s around and the are predominantly red
That’s a fact... don’t get me wrong I love a red car but that doesn’t alter the facts ..

Silver just looks gash imho...

No way do porsche have £5k in prep on second hand Cars , a 2 year warranty is only £1200 on a cayman.. the prep is nearly non existent...it will have the Porsche insp check and a wash and hoover ..

Go into your local dealership and see the prep on cars that are £70-£100k

It’s ok poo pooing the non S version of the car, they are far from slow
Around 5 secs to 60 and nearly 170mph flat out is no slug

Yes of course the “S” is better, more power always is imho but another £8-£10k ???
If you have the money then fine, but then why not buy a GTS, but then why not buy a GT4

You know best

You've been arguing with me for years about 997s... like why take the risk yet you've bought one now so... :driving:

BTW the 2.7 is 5.9 to 60 in manual form. 5.7 in PDK so its not what I would call quick the average fast hatch would be all over it for half the money.

Main issue with the 2.7 is where it makes power, it can feel lethargic as the torque doesn't come until half way through the rev range making is a pain to drive casually or day to day.

Sales guy at Porsche Nottingham warned me off red as they are the hardest colour to move on, he has hell trying to sell red Porsche’s. I was 50/50 on red or Agate grey so no mither fortunately but Im glad he was honest.

Again suppose it depends, my dads 997 S in GR sold before it hit the forecourt. It only had 20k on it and fully loaded tho.

Suppose you always have that Ferrari Red syndrome with any other sports car in red.

I loved my porsche such an amazing car.
And the colour personal choice mine sold with ease and I think the colour enhanced the sale.

To be fair it was a guestimate, but if thats the figures then thats the figures... Mine doesnt feel massivley behind my C4s and on a Decent A or B road the cayman would batter it,every 911 i have had just feels weird in the fast corners. Very grippy but the nose to tail pitch and yaw is awful. Whereas the Cayman is flat and poised, never even getting close to its limits on the road.

The 2.7 and the 3.4 both have to be revved to get going and have a hole in the torque. Its a bit unusual at first but you soon drive around it once you learn where the power is.

On the other had you have to remember they were a cheap sports car... Around the £38k mark as a base when the 981 when launched, so 7 years down the line the residual value in comparison to some is quite astonishing, and with no real love for the 4 banger turbo in the 718 then prices are staying staunch for the foreseeable future. They are a cheap car to run, mine does 33 mpg on a crappy 6 mile commute, and over 40mpg on a run, cheap tax and insurance is peanuts. Service every 2 years and warranty around £600 a year.

Well i will let you know within a few weeks with a bit of luck, mines going up for sale and it wont start with a £2x,xxx

Lovely indeed. I had the pleasure of a passenger seat, in a Similarly coloured 997 gt2 fettled by the good folk at ruff. My one and only experience of a 911 from the inside. That thing could shift :D
(Still not a fan strangely, they still leave me stone cold) :o

Has anyone seen this Z before? Really strange combination :o :o I wonder how much is he looking to get out of it.

Dare say at a dealer it will be in the £20k+ range

Lovely car but factor in £600-£1000 to sort out that gopping wood dash and it will be a lovely thing.

Personally the 2 tone leather doesn’t do anything for me, one or the other in solid colour would have looked better in the car imho..

But sub 40k miles M coupes are getting rare now

I’d love to know who specced that ! It’s a total mish mash , but I think with the wood swapped out or sprayed to look like the piano black trim; then it would work ok. Bizarre though.

This looks nice   alpine white M
