It's the SL350 with the later slightly more powerful engine (272bhp) and 7-speed gearbox.Jembo said:derin100 said:Only a few not very good ones off the dealer's ad so far. I haven't brought it home yet as there are a couple of things they're going to do first:
So do tell, what’s a hiding under the hood?

You should consider Wellington New Zealand, no salt or grit at all, in fact it barely snow’s here.
Yebbut the police over there have forward facing radar.
Well, the one on the road from Takaka to Motueka did, I thought he was wagging his finger at me to slow down. 20 min later whilst having a rest at a viewing stop I was surprised to find he wanted me to stop. To be fair I was on a bike and passing a logging truck when he saw me, so he would have got held up a bit.

Beemingallover said:[ref]AndyBeech[/ref], Everything from engine innards, ancillaries, suspension, braking system, drivelines to seats have all covered 90k, a lot of use, a lot of wear and tear, thus repair/replacement costs - big bills. Wouldn't it'be better to put a couple of thou more into a lower mileage one? There's a 60k one on Autotrader for £2k+ more.
This is what did with mine despite several well intentioned members saying steer clear. Some say shells between 60 - 100k so there's a grand before you start if you take forum advice. As has already been mentioned low mileage is no guarentee of trouble free motoring. Also many have said the S54 is bullet proof (if well serviced) so by that reasoning there should be a decent car there to be had. Obviously if it's been thrashed you can't say but low mileage cars can be as equally thrashed. It's only a mileage difference on most cars and not an age thing.Papa_Zee said:@Beemingallover:
Agreed. I got a '56 MR at 47.5k miles for £16.5k in September last year.
I would pay that little extra as these parts will need repairing/replacing around the 100k mark. A lower mileage will give you the time to gradually do this before the miles get so high.
For someone experienced and looking for a 'keeper' project, get this for a steal then over time build it up, it might be ideal.

Absolutely agree, there was a simlar article in evo last year too. Comparing the best coupés for £15k. Not sure how the Z4MC snuck in, it's clearly worth much more than that![]()

This means Ms (Esp the Coupe) are indeed creeping up. You will be hard pressed to find any sub £20k now never mind £15k!
Beemingallover said:[ref]AndyBeech[/ref], what do you use for engine clean/sparkle? Mine's clean but not that good.

Any idea when that magazine came out?
