M market watch

And on the other end of the scale, a £32995 coupe with 26k on the clock, but the nicest looking interior I have ever seen!!!

That’s beautiful, love the colour combo on it. Although I don’t believe they are CSL alloys?! I Can’t see the ‘BMW’ marking above the M logo.

Every thing except the interior and the price.

The current prices being asked are being driven by Synter BMW who are trying to buy up the better quality low mileage Z4MC’s and inflating the prices. It’s the same thing Hexagon we’re doing a while back, although they did manage to get £50k for a 07 Z4MC in red with only 1800 mikes on the clock!
My old one is currently for sale at Sheffield.
I sold it 3 years ago for £22.5k with 28k miles on the clock. It had a spare set of original wheels with new tyres and an Eisenmann race exhaust(all worth about £4K). The buyer sold these off and put 10k miles on the car. Synter bought it for £22k and immediately put it up for £29k. I made enquiries but they said the best they could knock off was £100!! They have since dropped the price to £28k, then £27.5k, £27k and now £26k. The zeds are not selling as they are overpriced! I’ve seen the same set of ‘lower’ mileage Z4MC’s being readvertised on Pistonheads for months now. You would need to be mad or desparate to spend £33k on a non-original Z4MC!

Z4m is an awesome car but doesn’t make sense at £30k. For that you can get in to an Aston Martin v8 vantage which is same age and relatively low mileage (there’s plenty with sub 30k miles going for c£35k

A lot of people are jumping on the bandwagon regarding classic or possible future classic cars that’s why they are still there months down the line, that goes for most make of car,I’m also on the lookout for an sti Scooby ( blobeye ) but the low mileage ones are going for good money,I would get back wot I paid over three years ago for my wrx wagon as it’s a low mileage car,if it’s a low mileage car then you might stand half a chance of making a profit but be prepared to wait a long time then there are the cases regarding the Datsun 240/260 Zs when it comes into the classic car category, people are importing them and asking as much as 30k which puts a RHD model at 40 -50 k,don’t think so some how, look at the classic ford prices,it’s gone mad

Wow that is quite a price for a private sale. Nice colour combination though.

Mr Wilks,

I think I've caught the M bug!! As you are a knowledgable and respected member, what should I watch out for?

Cheers

Simon

Keeping it brief my best advice to anyone looking for their first ZM would be do your homework ( look out for a "tomscott" summary on the mechanical pitfalls as they are a better read than most magazine articles  ) don't get hung up on spec or number of owners & beware the game of "snakes & ladders " that permeates the ///Marketplace
Too many cars for sale at a "reasonable" market price that could easily relieve you of £2k if you get on at the wrong stop  look out for ins2 , brakes + tyres as these quickly add to the price you paid so technically it can be better to buy a more expensive car that requires zero spend , not exactly rocket science i know but its harder than it looks to make the numbers work :P
Is it a MR or MC that tempts you ?

Hi all .... first post so please be easy :)

Looking at a z4mc on Saturday ..... I’d really appreciate people’s thoughts on it , good value? Ect

Can’t seem to link it but it’s on piston heads ... 66k 57plate , interlagos , owner has had it 7 years . The discs and pads were done 15k ago , needs a service ( looks like insp 1 ) in 5k

Thank you

I assumed people would look at the PH ad .... wrongly I guess

Up for 21k .... although spoken to him and he’d take a sum that begins with 19
