That doesn't sound enough for a 65k Mcoupe :?

Mr Wilks preparing a £18001 offer as we speak

I didn't think that was a bad trade in price. I was only expecting a max of £21k if i sold it privately.

Do you think they low balled me?

I wouldn't say that's too bad. It's probably a £24k car at retail so a £6k margin seems fair enough really.....

Without appearing negative i think £24k is unlikely to sell a 65k MC right now :? whether private or dealer :?
Prices currently seem deflated more than over the past 2 years & a great time to buy for those wanting a ZMC
Here are some ZMC examples that reflect where prices stand currently

Private 79k £18950 https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201802073513520?sort=sponsored&make=BMW&advertising-location=at_cars&model=Z4M&onesearchad=Used&onesearchad=Nearly%20New&onesearchad=New&postcode=bb120hr&radius=1500&page=3
Indy 69k £19950 https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201802073513520?sort=sponsored&make=BMW&advertising-location=at_cars&model=Z4M&onesearchad=Used&onesearchad=Nearly%20New&onesearchad=New&postcode=bb120hr&radius=1500&page=3
Indy 60k £20995 ( sepang too which usually carries a premium } https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201803144558539?sort=sponsored&make=BMW&advertising-location=at_cars&model=Z4M&onesearchad=Used&onesearchad=Nearly%20New&onesearchad=New&postcode=bb120hr&radius=1500&page=3
Indy 63k £20995

& a 95k AUC at £17500 from Sytner thats clearly priced to sell & factor in the warranty isnt a bad buy pro rata https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201712302347272?make=BMW&postcode=bb120hr&sort=sponsored&radius=1500&model=Z4M&advertising-location=at_cars&onesearchad=Used&onesearchad=Nearly%20New&onesearchad=New&page=2

Bearing in mind the value of the car you are buying they have hit with you with a "bottom book " figure where they hope to make £ on both the M2 & the MC trade in , of course that's their business but if i was in your shoes id be wanting closer to £19250 /£19450 .
They'l spend £1k then offer it at £22k / £22500 ?

No idea how you plan to fund the M2 (Pcp /HP or buy ) but If i was heading out to get into a £48k Bmw from a main dealer i wouldn't start negotiations with a trade in  hammer out a no PX deal first just to see where you can be , no reason why after a week pondering you can't then dangle the MC as a possible "hurdle" that's preventing you sealing the deal  at which point you may only get offered £17k but what they give you for the car is irrelevant , its the ££ cost to change that matters :)

There are two M2s at Vines, with "attractive" discounts so I was told when I was there a few weeks ago.

They don't seem to fly out of the showroom, so a healthy discount should be achievable on them.

Engine bay needs a little spruce  but certainly well priced for a later year ZMC / 2008 57 plate 69k in carbon black with 2 tone individual trim , decent spec private sale asking £18450 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Rare-BMW-Z4M-Coupe-2008-57-Carbon-Black-69k-Miles-Red-Black-leather-interior/112830377811?hash=item1a4536ef53:g:HOwAAOSwehVajtx2

It was a independent dealer that made the trade in offer against a 2016 M2 with 6k miles up for £36.5k after negotiation.

I'm lucky in that i can afford to buy the new car with cash and then sell my Z4M at a later date so no need for finance or PCP etc

Picking up the new M2 this afternoon. Not the one that i was offered a trade in against the Z4M.

Now time to get the Z4M up for sale.

My old one is now up with James Paul...https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/202270199671 needed new pads, discs, bumper respray and bracket repair, gasket replacement (slight weep no oil loss) and front tyres. Plus I'd be servicing it as annual one was due. Hopefully the mark up includes the above! Edit to say it's on h&r springs but she is a lovely example, very late model and that s54 pulls very strongly!

A sad day, my car sold and left today. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-Z4M-...771588?hash=item1ca5625e44:g:ZjEAAOSwuR1assVL

Posting this advert on ebay and Pistonheads I had six enquiries in three days, half of these were very keen, with one making a full price offer over the phone without seeing it! For the record none of them were worried by my self servicing, if anything they seemed more reassured. It was sold with a selection of photos on a memory card, all receipts and a detailed service book. £14,495 for reference, Z4M Roadster with just under 56,000 miles. I possibly could have asked more for it, but then again the phone may not have rung and I may have needed to drop the price during negotiations? I can say that it was the best all round car I have owned to date and if it weren't for buying a house it wouldn't have been sold. Still, I have the Corvette to look forward to but it won't have the same all round ability of the Z.
I shall be sticking around these parts and am off to Spa with TomK at the end of the week. :driving:

Cheers, Dave

You guys need to stop selling these things for peanuts. :P

Here's how you do it - £50k and wait a few years/decades.

Or just don't sell them at all, the fact the values are increasing just about covers the costs on mine so its free basically (man maths) :D
