M market watch

As for the rust, that should still be rectifiable by BMW under warranty shouldn't it? If so, might be a good bargaining tool to the get the price down on something that you can get fixed for free

Went to see this today...

Screen Shot 2017-09-22 at 16.41.51.png

Thought I would spare anyone the trip on phone convo with them.

Issues noted within 2 mins of looking:

Rust showing above the drivers tail light and looks badly touched in
Huge rust spot on the underside of the boot in the corners
Repainted front drivers wing
Repainted rear quarters
Repainted rear bumper

In all not a nice car for 20k I'm sorry to say. Only went as it was close to me.

That's pretty crap for a 20 grand car!! Did you take it for a spin just for the fun of it?

No, its 10 year body warranty if I remember correctly, plus it has to have had all the checks at BMW to maintain the corrosion warranty I think.

No, it would have been pointless plus it was jammed in a showroom.

12 year corrosion warranty.

All traders have the ear to the ground on what's the "next big thing" and Z4M's have been a good buy for a while

£20k shitters that's had loads of paint not included ..

God loves a trier, and car traders are his favourite

Hi Guys,

So I was very close to pulling the trigger on this.

http://www.coupesandconvertibles.co.uk/used-car/bmw/z4m/3-2-2dr/for-sale-in-wokingham-berkshire/aetv12942546/

Pretty lovely, exactly what I wanted specced to the nines apart from extended leather.

Unfortunately as soon as I got to the service book things took a downward turn.

Registered 20-3-08 John Clark Aberdeen

1200 Running in service: John Clark 14-9-09 8889 miles 18 months later

No date: Eastern inspection I 25467

20-6-14 - Inspection I - Neil Garner Performance 39108

23-9-16 - Inspection II - Neil Garner Performance 51173

Its a pretty hard sell at £23250

It also looks like it needs some work, the calliper's are an absolute state and apparently the discs and pads were done all round last service. Its done 4500 miles since then and the brakes look a bit pitted to me.

It also has CSL reps, some may not see a negative here but I would like the 224s for originality and the reps aren't for me.

The interior is also warn, steering wheel looks very shiny and so does the gear knob. Rest of the interior looks I good shape. The exhaust on the driver side is also hanging needs adjustment.

Its also had two insp Isin a row but there is no paperwork that valve clearances have been done on the INS II

So with the running in service being done at 8989 miles that was it for me. 150-200 miles either side fair enough but 7500 miles is ridiculous. Really disappointed I thought the price was a touch high and would have settled for £22k but not sure what the value of a car with service history like that is worth. Someone without knowledge will probably buy it.

Funny thing is the dealer is partnered with Z Cars Racing  don't know what that says about them really.

Its also the third most expensive currently for sale and comes with a 3 month Warranty wise warranty which isn't worth the paper its written on for these type of cars.

What do others think?

55k for £22k :? You weren't seriously going to hand that over with the market heading south were you Tom :o
Makes the current crop of 30-50k Mroadies on forum around £15k look complete bargains .

Sadly Z Cars Racing, or rather Gary Feakins Racing who was behind this is no longer trading. It turns out he is/was quite a crook and I for one was taken in by him. There are now several claims against Gary including assault and possible debts amounting to £150,000 at a rough count :(
I should add that their is no connection to Neil Garner or MSVR. :)

£23 and a quarter.... ?

I wouldnt want £20k in that personally...

I think if it had £2000 spent to get it somewhere close to a nice car then a £19,950 ask would be achievable..

I also went to see the Z4M on eBay in Guiseley, Leeds the other day. Finished in ruby black, it looked promising...

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bmw-Z4-Z4...e=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649

Get there, and i'm greeted by a nice chap who hands me the keys.

Interior is clean and tidy, bolster wear been repaired at some point but thats no deal breaker for me as i can fix the not so great job thats been done. Body work has been 'mopped' extremely badly and needs a full paint correction, again i can do that with being an ex detailer for 15 years. Bad point was the painted drivers wing and rear quarter which has been done badly. I actually think the entire front has been painted only.

In short, not 25.5k's worth. Shame as when ruby is polished it looks exceptional.

If you find a silver grey with red leather with that spec and under 55k for less than 22k please send them along lol

I haven't seen a coupe especially a late 08 plate for under 22k with that spec in... well a long long time.

There are a few around but they have odd combos, absolute flimper spec or have been for sale for a long time which says volumes.

Even the private sales on here have been north of 25 and then removed because they decided to keep.

The roadsters are good value but just prefer the coupes. Looking for something to keep for a while not swap in 6 months. If I can't find what I'm after I might buy one for the short term but winters coming doesn't seem much point to buy one and leave it on the garage.

There aren't any 30-50k roadies for 15k on the forum.

Blinkin eck, I didn't realise the market is heading south! Most articles seem to point towards values increasing, a theme that Z4M's, particularly coupes, are looking good for heading north. Roadsters are cheaper because they are perceived as less desirable, rightly or wrongly. As my wife said to me, you have a man's car, the convertible, er, isn't....... :fuelfire: :D

If the car was a good example I don't think £22k would if been out of the park. Just my opinion if course.

This was under 40k for under £15k & sat still for 6-8 weeks http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=99769

This one does actually look like a minter as opposed to the grey MC you were considering http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=99614

Think what you like , right now across the board all Zs are struggling to tread water so why folks think the ZMC is any different i have no idea .
If you can afford the spend go for it , personally i wouldn't enjoy the experience if i thought it was flaming my hard earned on a weekly basis
To my mind a 60k-80k car £16k-£18k can be just as well kept , just as well maintained & drive just as well as one with 50k or less that a so called "specialist" as simply bought in & thrown £3k , £4k or more on the top :(
The whole ///Market is just snakes & ladders as ive said before

I didn't realise that Plowy's had sold. I was shocked that ours didn't gain any interest. At 57K miles it was the cheapest roady in the country for a similar mileage at £14,995. Truth be told, I would always go for 20k miles less for another grand or so.

Either way she is not going anywhere now. I said I would put her back in March but that is when we plan to use her most so I doubt we will see at all now.

Just here and AT but if people aren't looking on AT then they need their head looking at. 1300 views of the advert so far.

I always do AT and Ebay....

I know its full of Idiots but the exposure is really good.

I had nearly 300 watchers on my Z4M coupe when i tried to sell it,but it still took 3 months of advertising to get it sold..

I test drove that too.
Seemed to drive well and clean on the inside.
But yeah that body work was awful!
