If this is true and the trend continues then the Forum is going to have to review its rule about not selling for more than you paid??

Some already try that:

Ooooo. You bad man

Well, I paid 43 for it so have a lot more leeway not to make a profit :D

Well, at this rate, by the time Bing's paid-in-advance 5-year lease on the car expires you'll probably be able to sell it without loss....

Anything remotely 'special' or 'rare' seems to be going up doesn't it... I was looking at ISF's recently too and couldn't believe the difference since 2 years ago...
... still glad i bought the MC when I did, looking at todays prices it seems like a right bargain!!!

wowza, that's quite a return in just a few months (if it sells for +£2,000 more than paid for).

DannyG has done similar with his MCs. Fair play to 'em I say

Factor in a full set of OEM discs+pads + 2 brand new rear tyres & suddenly a £2k "profit" isn't all it seems 8)
You should also factor in location when a car is being sold as you can easily lose a few hundred just getting hold of it
Makes me laugh when i see folks who look at 2 figures & assume shangri la

from what I'm seeing theirs a serious lack of good roadsters for sale, i mean great condition, low owner, low mile roadsters.... I'm seeing lots of coupes but not many roadsters, maybe summer will change that?

The z4m market in general seems really good, it can only get better imo.

Will be interesting to see if they can shift them as quickly as their cheaper ones recently and determine whether they have gone too high. I have talked to them about the red one and gave it more thought but not raising my offer. I'll for now probably scour the private ads and see if a seller comes along who has enjoyed what they have owned and wants to price for a quick low hassle sale.
It's a bit more difficult I think looking for one having owned one before. It's more of a nice to have as a toy than "I WANT".

Sooooo, I've just had an Insp II on my car, can I now sell it for £750 more than I would have a few weeks back. Also just spent £100 on cleaning products, better factor that in. Ooh and the custom geometry...oh ooh ooh and the 300 mile return trip from when I bought the car. Better bear this in mind for the agreed valuation next year.

Or maybe I can sell it for more now, than I could a year ago, because the market is stronger too.....

I can't understand what the problem is really..

If you can get more for your car because the market dictates, why wouldn't you?

It's only when people try to blatantly profiteer or bullshit does it become a bit unsavoury.

You can do what you want mate , i couldnt give a hoot but when you imply someone is "profiting" from a purchase then subsequently a sale perhaps you should consider the facts before posting ?
However way you look at them they factor into the deal so a £2000 profit is highly unlikely & if there was then perhaps the car was undersold in the first place

Absolutely no problem if you advertise it on Pistonheads etc. Not so much if you advertise it amongst forum members within a few months of obtaining it.

Sytner are building quite a stock
IMG_3051.png

Aren't car dealers supposed to sell their stock?

I'll be interested to see how long it takes them to sell. I know the black one with the higher miles has been for sale for a few weeks now.

That's nuts - the price of that black one is what Stu Truman's imola roadster was up for when he bought it two years ago.

From Sytner.

With just 6,000 miles on it :|
