To compare, I paid <£26k for one with 6000 miles back in around June 2009 and at the time i didn't think the deal was spectacular . The year before there was a 2008 Sepang Coupe for sale wiht just 150 mies on it (a dealer car) for either £25k or 26k

Yea I thought that was expensive given the other examples currently up for sale. But it's main dealer I guess. And it's a good thing, means they're holding value really well.
I'm paying 11.7k today for a 2006 M Roadster, although it has 64k that's still low mileage for the year. At the back of my mind I am kinda wishing mine had less miles but at that price with FSH it was an amazing deal. And it won't be a daily driver so the miles won't increase that much.

Dont be too concerned about milage, iit's not a great indicator of use or condition.

As part of the deal the dealer has been made to refurb all 4 alloys and smarten it up, but it definitely needs some TLC. The engine bay in particular.

The interior is worn in places too, but nothing I can't source parts for.

Yea the guy sent me over some additional snaps of it, it's pristine as well. But it couldn't be any further from Newcastle

You absolutely have to be willing to travel nationally for the right Z4M.

The sytner £22,850 silver grey coupe with three previous owners now appears sold. Amazing that the private owner struggled to sell it at £16,500! I haven't asked but reoved from their website and pistonheads.

I pick it up in a couple of hours, and it's just occurred to me that the Renault Evans Halshaw dealer did an oil service to it before I came along.... they're in for it if they haven't used 10w60 oil. Been doing my homework and nothing other than should be in this car.

I would check the oil filter is a genuine one as well......TBH I would probably have a interim oil change when you get it for piece of mind, the correct 10w-60 is expensive, wouldn't suprise me if they cut a corner....oil change should cost you £100 or so, worth it in my opinion unless they can guarantee they used genuine and correct oil/parts.

Also I would check at that mileage discs and/or pads have been done at some point. If not they will deffo be due for replacement soon, and that's not cheap, I've just done the lot! :wink:

Can't say I'm surprised tbh, a non BMW garage would probably just go with what they have to hand, cheaper. Renault garage probs doesn't have any call for 10-60 oil! I would just ask to knock off a few quid from the asking price and get it done yourself at a decent Indy. It'll be safe to drive, just avoid going into the high rev range (6-8k rpm) until you've done the oil and filter.

Also, why would you want a Renault dealer stamp in the book? I'd be tempted to use this as a major negotiating platform.

at the price he's paid he's getting exactly what i expected tbh, hopefully he can bring it back to form glory but its not in the best condition... i mean theirs a sticker on the slam panel clearly outlining what oil to put in their, id be concerned about a Renault dealer doing its service, that type of history is not good, bmw or a good specialist. will the 10w40 hurt it?? i see no reason why it would but its probably cheap as s**t stuff they use for the twingo's.

I had to fly to Cornwall to collect the Abarth as that deal was the best at the time

Except that due to snow we landed about 50 miles in the wrong airport

I wouldn't say it struggled to sell...it went within a few days and was underpriced IMO.
