If the service book says it should have a stamp for inspection 2 at 8 years or less I'd be looking for one, things like the diff and gearbox oil are replaced at inspection 2 and not at inspection 1 and oil degrades with time as well as mileage.

But the service book doesn't.

If that was the case there would be no need for the minimum oil service every two years as a minimum.

Ah, ok - I did not realise that insp 2 should be done at 8 years irrespective. And I thought I had actually RTFM in detail
Don't start this again... :poke:

We had a long discussion a while back about service intervals and which services should be done when....

I'm in the ...oil... Ins I... oil... Ins II... and repeat camp (with intervals dictated by service indicator or 2 years if sooner)

Other people say inspections should be totally mileage driven with oil services every two years until an inspection is indicated by the service indicator....

Inspection II by 8 years old would be correct by the way I calculate services - although PVR and srhutch will disagree as they use the other method. If it means I'm having Inspection services sooner than absolutely necessary, I don't really care as I think that, even with low annual mileage, 4 years between inspection services is quite long enough

What are the Insp 2 items on an Alpina?

Guessing plugs, gearbox oil, and diff oil.

Neither of the last two are changed on any non ///M BMW during servicing, so I can't see it being a major issue.

Changing these every 12K (for me doing 1,500 a year) would seem very much like overkill.

Anyone remember what the Interlagos MR was going for in the original post? Think it was a 1 owner car with 24k miles and had satnav and sepang interior? Was it around 16k?
Been pretty busy but did email about the £15k 35k mile asking for more pics and some info and never did receive a reply. Probably already sold but just had a quick look and still ont heir website for sale.

Such a shame it hasn't got extended leather, otherwise I would have been up there seriously considering it.
Looks very nice, if not a tad on the pricey side, but if it's as good as it looks probably justifyable.

Considering another Sytner dealer had a 25kmile one owner interlagos MC recently with satnav for £14850, yes the red one is a bit expensive. Probably rarer colour and personally I prefer a car without the satnav anyway but find it hard to justify paying 4grand more

very expensive roadster on their now......

Does anyone have any other information on this car? Having previously owned a Z4MC I'm looking at buying another again. This one seems almost too cheap though! If its too good to be true…

I don't know if it's too cheap or whether BMW dealerships set insane prices but this particular showroom keeps a lot of prestige stock at good prices. But like everything closer inspection will bare all!!

It's 5 mins from my office - I could pop in and check it out for you. Send me a pm if you're interested.

Having studied the market really closely the last 12 months I can say it's very cheap for a 35k mile car with low owners, apparent correct service history AND from a dealer.
I'd expect this to be at 18-19k. If you're in the market for one and it meets your criteria I think you'd be silly not to go and enquire about it.

I've had a VERY bad experience with Sports & Prestige Centre, my advice is avoid them like the plague
