Oooh...
I recognise that for some reason ..

That interior is errrrrr.... Orrible..

Couldn't agree more

It'd be under £150 to convert that trim set to a quality piano black finish though.

Looks like extended leather on the door cards too - so with that, the recent Insp 2, new rears, OEM strutbrace, no horrible nav etc, I reckon it's a good example at a decent price.

I see it differently in that it has a short MOT, service outside the BMW network, that awful trim and hasn't the best spec..

I can't see the value in it at £17,500..

I kind of like it - it's a very different look for a Zed. :?

"Different" is always hard to shift especially at top money  dash looks like a piece of old Sunseeker someones had a dabble with

This is market watch so you're quite right. I was making a personal comment about that interior. It would probably feel a very different environment from other Zeds - more a Californian sunshine state car rather than a European sports car. Still, I quite like it for being different and I'm sure it would feel very relaxed (not quite right for an ///M though  ).

Do we still believe servicing outside of BMW is bad? Mine will always be BMW services purely for service history and resale, but surely on this forum we know BMW are more cowboy than some of the common decent indys we use?

I take mine to a BMW motorsport garage, the guy that owns it builds and races his own cars, he even designs his own parts sometimes, and he also owns a Z4M :). I trust him a lot more that some lacky in an official BMW garage. I also track my car, so it makes sense for me.

I know for a fact that the Indy I use takes the cars from a BMW dealer that they cant fix or diagnose. Not sure if the customer knows or not!

If a part BMW SH & BMW Specialist effects value I don't know. Maybe to someone who is just buying without researching fully. I would expect most buyers of these to do a lot of background reading.

I don't care either way as I bought it for me, not what the next owner might/might not want, and I have kept it maintained to my standard which is way above what BMW recommend.

These cars are hitting 10 years old, how many cars of this age are still serviced at main dealers?

To me it's not an issue as long as where it's been done has a good reputation. For example I've started looking at Elise's again as I have found a well respected indi just 5 miles away. He also does BMW and Porsche as having worked on these at main dealers. Now I'd take an Elise there as he is well respected in that community, but as BMW I've never heard of him so would not.

Regarding main dealers what reputation do they actually have, most aren't that great, at best satisfactory, but most don't really care about you.

Mine is at an Indy now... But then I'll only sell early, really have to... Or I need space for a newer faster better toy. And neither of those things will happen any time soon.

This sort of thing is getting me twitchy again

a V8 Vantage S drove past me waiting for the poverty-bus last night, opened up the valves for about .5secs and instantly made me want it... hah. We can dream...

Don't think so. Very low spec and with Alpine head unit

Has heated seats though, so sort the radio out and could be nice flipper spec car.
