M market watch

Nice Roadster - http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/bmw/z4m-roadster/bmw-z4m-roadster/4380979

The price of the cars is holding despite the milage creeping up. There are quite a few on PistonHeads with over 60k on them.

Thanks!
Yes I have. Not too keen on upgrades. Prefer standard tbh.
Lots about though so need to start viewing.
Wild price variations and many dubious / missing service histories.
Is higher mileage an issue.
Seen a 58 reg. with 80k for 17k - is that about right?

Welcome to the forum.

It depends on the spec but I'd say an 80k car would be £15k - £17k depending on spec, history and condition.

A couple of low mile roadsters in the 30k region, good spec too, on Autotrader at the mo for around 15k, good price I reckon.

Cheers for the pointer JAD.

"Lots about " ? Id say choice was limited unless budget is up to £20k ?
Agreed you need to view a few to know what is & isn't good value as the prices vary wildly & can lead you to thinking the more you pay the better the car & vice versa  the locality of possibles means you will likely have to put in some miles
If i was in your shoes id set my target at £15/£17k for up to 65k car , watch the market almost daily & be prepared to move fast
Best of luck

Mr Wilks
You seem to be the authority on prices.
Have u seen the one at Geoff Cox on Autotrader for 16995. 58 plate. What do you think?
Car for me will be a 3rd car with weekend use.
Thx.

can't lie the high priced ones don't seem to be moving sadly.... so I'm hoping they start picking up soon.

Not just myself , there are a good few forum members who have a solid grasp of the market in both standard of cars , spec, mods & prices , its part of the ownership hobby for some
The GC car you mention ? Not a recognised ZM dealer so possibly chancing their luck ? Maybe if you got there & it was what you wanted you could grab a decent lump off the price ?
Negatives from here are scant description of history & its black , meaning it could be in great condition paintwise or it could need a lot of time & money to make goodthe swirls & scratches
no heated seast but has cruise
Not sure what it is about AndrewZ4MCs "upgrades" that put you off but for the same money without seeing or driving either car thats where my cash would go
Have you tried any ZM out at all ?

Yes. Been out in two. Both overpriced imo and I am an ex M3E46 owner so know what to look for, I think.
Engine rebuilds always hard to sell on.

Have to say a fresh top end rebuild would worry me. Once it's got some more miles under its belt I would feel happier. I would just feel the seller it trying to get shot if the work was just done. Hopefully Andrew will get some decent miles on it to help id the sale.

Interesting point of view , i would agree on that point & said so in Andrews sale post but as you will know the ins & outs of the S54 providing you don't pay extra for the works on top of the cars market value i see only positives from having the best part of £6k/£7k spent on it :?

I'm sure the Geoff Cox car has been passed around a few dealers this year and been on sale for a while.

There's the highest amount of M Coupes for sale at any one time during the whole year right now which could work in your favour?
Pretty much all the ones <£18k look good value IMO.

Notice the Jersey car with 11k on it hasn't gone.

Is it in Cheshire now ? £14500 + the duty :?

Was always listed as being in Cheshire. £14.5k total I believe.

Looks like you right Andy, read the advert for the first time all the way through and seller does state buyer i responsible for the vat.

Not so cheap after all.

If i was to register it to a french address then that could be avoided i presume :?
Tbh the 11k covered on such a small island like Guernsey may not have done the engine any favours  possibly a low miler to avoid :?

Its been up a while & discussed before but now the price is reflecting the cars "foibles" this could be a cheap way into ///Motoring providing it comes up ok under scrutiny
No idea what costs are for changing KMH clocks to MPH but some CSL reps would transform the car & the silver sepang trim looks cool against the Ilb paint
