What's everyone thoughts on this? Well spec'd but high mls. Fsh,Next service is an oil. Noticed headlight washer missing & I thought all M's had black roll hoops? Looks clean though.

My usual price check from here

I checked last week on a couple of different sites & my offers were approx £1200 down on the peak of 5/6 weeks ago  a shortlived summer season this year but also predictable rises + falls with the roadsters whether M or not

How accurate do you think cap is Steve?

No idea really. As we have seen prices are all over the place. No plans to sell mine, until PVR finally grinds me down that is.

Yea... I put a few reg numbers and specs into the cap guide and they seem to value cars between 25% and 75% lower than what's available actually available on the retail market..

I wonder if traders actually use CAP anymore or like the rest of us just have a flick around the net for 5 mins and see what any particular car is worth?

It's laughably inaccurate. You have to remember it is a Ford owned site (or appears to be). It's only real use is to do what Steve does, and gauge trends, rather than absolute values.

If I enter my details, it values my car (trade-in) around £5k less than I could comfortably expect to get for it selling it to a specialist dealer and that's not me with rose-tinted spectacles either. That's a realistic assessment of what it would sell for (not what I would advertise it for).

Havent been on here a little while since selling my M coupe- I got £15k and it had 62k miles, FSH and had recently changed brakes all round+inspection all costing in excess of £1500 and it had all the extras.
How are the prices for coupes holding up?

I hope you are right about the 5k, but I think it may be nearer 2-3k

I got offered a pittance from BMW for my coupe. I sold privately and got far more. BMW were never going to price in the history, condition, CSLs, aeros etc. Been some pretty horrible examples up recently around the £20k mark, and selling, as AUCs.

Bmw main dealer offered me £16,300 for mine yesterday against £24000 M3...

The cap book says £14,500
WBAC offers £15,430

Actually cheapest Z4 35is I can find in the country is £21,500 at a dealers..

25% ish off for trade seems to be figures they are working on.

I would say healthy numbers there & again WBAC would be my prompt . For me they offer a very accurate indication on most vehicles current valuation
Add 15/20% to their figure & £18500 private sale should be on the money ?
Pitching between that & the cheapest dealer figure of £21500 & you should have a happy seller & happy buyer
Are you looking to get back into a M car?

Not really...

The car was in the dealers for a wiring repair caused by the windscreen fitters.. (Whole other thread!!)
They had a nice M3 in my favourite colour so was just having a quick chat with the salesman..
He said it would be best for me to sell private and offer a cash sum on the M3..

Can't be bothered really.. I don't think there will be a lot of difference in the price of mine now and in 6 months...

May as well wait.
