M market watch

If I was desperate to get a low miler this one looks like a better idea:- https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202307300235116?sort=datedesc&make=BMW&model=Z4%20M&page=2&postcode=gu470za&radius=1500&advertising-location=at_cars&fromsra

But personally I'd rather pay about half the money for one I wasn't afraid to use!

Which is what I did, admittedly due to budget constraints at the time.

I wouldn't be afraid to use it. It is basically a new car with that low a mileage; plus, it has had all its inspections done, (which is the usual criticism on this forum about a low mileage cars!) What other new sports car can you buy today for £37k that is even half as good as a Z4m Coupe?

If I were in the market, this would be on my list, as would the JK one. I would buy it, drive it, and when and if I decided to sell it, with say 50k on the clock, it still wouldn't have lost as much value as a brand new £37k car.

The only reason to buy it and not drive it is if you believe it will go up massively in value, and I'm not convinced that will happen, certainly not enough to make it a good investment.

That makes sense Shaun - where else are you going to find a nearly new MC?

I just hope whoever buys it does use it!

Thats mine thats just gone up:

Happy to field any questions if anyone is interested.

As if by magic - I’m current at the NEC Classic car show and just spotted this Z4MR….Also ref current market conditions I’ve just spent 2 hours at the Iconic Auction and most cars were selling circa 15-20% less than estimate or not meeting their reserve including desirable stuff. Didn’t see what the Z3MC S54 went across the block for but it was lovely
Thats the strangest looking Red i have come across :D

That was my car, sold it earlier this year to them. It's now for sale at 14950. I guess I sold at the right time

There is a bit of Z4M Coupe love in next months Classic Car magazine with pics and a write up of mine😀

Looks nice... But Registered as Cat-C in May 2012.

Dropped I think about 3k since I last saw this ad, but with the insurance rates as they are going, it will be more to insure than a standard M

It still seems expensive at £18,995.

Interesting that Autotrader doesn't show it as "Inspected" because they do flag Cat cars.

But to be a Cat C in 2012 it must have taken a fair hit. Cat D or Cat C when it was older wouldn't be quite such a concern, and why not take it to Autolign before 2020?

I suspect they may have it a while!

The straight cars aren’t selling at these high prices at the moment. The market has turned and it’s a buyers market for sure. He will be sitting on this for a while.
And the colour isn’t to everyone’s taste. Infact it looks terrible in those photos he’s taken.

Sepang is stunning, visually that car looks great but why doesn’t it show as a cat car on auto trader? Something strange there, almost tempted to hpi it myself to understand it more

I think being a cat car, even though it’s got good mileage, a rare colour and a coupe it’ll still struggle at anything over £13k in my opinion. Especially in the current market. And even then it’ll need the right buyer to find it. Wouldn’t be surprised if that’s still for sale in the summer

In the market for a sub 50k mile ZMC if anyone’s considering a move.

Currently having my 993 c4 manual coupe resprayed and I think I’ll be cashing out afterwards.

You might get more interest posting a "Wanted" advert in the Classifieds section. Good luck anyway.

I've just bought a ZMR for £10k, admittedly on high mileage (120k) but it's had rod bearings replaced (old ones were fine) and new B12 suspension fitted. Needs a few things doing of course but I can't believe how cheap these things are getting.

Congratulations.

I think values for anything with a 6 figure mileage reflect the majority of UK car buyers fear of high milers. In most other countries people don't seem to have that obsession!

Yea you're probably right. I've always had high milers and they've needed the usual consumables but otherwise they've been great! I hope this isn't the kiss of death for the M I've just bought

Well I may be facing that issue one day now my M has done 90K!

But my 330i has done 124K and still pulls like a train so I'm not too bothered.

I'm not far from North Hants so hopefully I'll see you about sometime, maybe when I visit RBM in Hook! What colour is your MR?
