M market watch

Did you do a deal on the Imola car? Seems to have disappeared from AT. There was a clean black one with full BMW service history that went for £22.5k+ fees on Collecting Cars last week - bizarrely the buyer would have paid more including fees than if they just bought it from the seller on AT for £23k.

No, spoke to the dealer last week but took it no further.

A high specced low mileage imola coupe is a bit of a dream car tbh whereas a higher mileage imola roadster is the compromise (and keeps her indoors happy).

That makes sense - happy wife = happy life as they say!

And it's still Imola Red.

Absolutely but tbf Mr Tidy she’s a good wife and wouldn’t begrudge me if I did spend big on a coupe

Sold today - hardly surprising at that price when it had only done 58k.Screenshot_20220902-005502_Auto Trader.jpg
Not surprised as the price had dropped from c£14.5k to £12k overnight. The seller stated that the roof motor had failed.

That’s the cheapest low/mid mileage M roadster I have seen in about 2 years.

Very good price unless it becomes the market norm

I guess it only takes one impatient seller to bring the average sale price down but there's no denying the market has softened for these cars over the past few months - although I suspect you could say the same of all second hand cars.

It will be interesting to see how much more prices soften as the winter months approach and next months home energy price increase comes into effect.

Almost - a keeper buys one for herself :)

Then leaves me to look after it :(

Then get a Coupe!! :driving:

No doubt that M coupes do look stunning especially with CSLs fitted but you can’t beat hooning around with the roof down! All IMHO of course and you’re imola red roadster does look pretty good with them CSL reps fitted.

She did. We had an MR2, looked for a replacement, she liked the Z4, then realised we'd only had the roof down twice in 7 years, so went for a coupe. And then discovered there was an "M" version and I (easily) persuaded her it was an investment :) Got an odd look at Goodwood when we did an Octane trackday and we took shopping bags out of the boot when they asked us to empty the car.

It looks like someone got a bargain!

But getting it to you wouldn't be cheap!

It's a virtually new MC for about £5K less than a new one cost so I suppose it's the nearest you'll get now to a new MC.

But with so little use it will need refreshing, and putting some miles on it would result in massive depreciation.

I would rather pay less for one with more miles on it so I didn't feel guilty using it, because if you don't drive it you really are missing the point of having it!

Why worry about the depreciation though. If You bought an New M40I it would depreciate just as fast and be less fun to drive.

Maybe because I paid less than a third of that for my MC that is just as fast and probably isn't depreciating! :D
