M headlight issue

New to here so hope this works!
I recently took a Z4M UK spec into Germany, but to get it registered and approved the headlight beam pattern must be switched. A garage checked it out and said the only option was to change the assys themselves for Euro options. BMW quote €2200 for the pair!!!
I have considered putting non-BMW options on but don't want cheap looking ones.
Please help!!

There's a lever in the passenger side unit which I had to pull down when I went to Europe, not sure whether that will help though.

Was interested in seeing this fix was true and came across this old thread. It becomes useful about 5 posts in. Hope that's what you're after

Ok, have read this thing about the lever before. I will try it but don't hold much hope!
Is there a decent M specific headlight assy available if not?? BTW: best car ever!!!

Ok so new update:
Having now had the lights apart and LHD halogen lights to compare I now know this:
The housings for the halogen / xenon beam are specific type for L/H OR R/H drive. Both sides are the same part number.
The famous 'lever' everyone talks about on the side of the housing is a TEMPORARY solution for driving abroad. When the lever is activated this will cut off the glare to oncoming drivers (abroad) but not give you the required official beam pattern for permanent driving in Germany (TÜV).
There might be one solution though, and I will give the details if it passes the TÜV test that I hope to have today!

Lights passed the test!
If you need details how let me know, only it involves grinding the light plate and using the famous lever as permanent up now.
