///M gone, time for the grand unveiling...

As good as the M is the 911 is better in every way imo! Apart from price. Lovely car, would have spent the extra buying the S tho.

Enjoy

I agree if I'd had the same deal offered on the S or with a chrono pack I would have gone for it... But this was a one off opportunity... Even if I took it to a trader right now I would make at least £500 profit!

Very cool JJ. Enjoy the experience.

When I was 24 I owned an B reg Fiat Uno so you're a very lucky man :)

Lovely JJ. My mate has a 996.2 Carrera. There's something nice about them (the non-S's). He's driven mine and I've driven his and the M and Porsche, whilst on paper quite similar, are very different in character. The M is a lot more aggressive and uncompromising, the Porsche the more complete car and slightly less angry sounding.

The Z4 is certainly better looking, but I bet the 911 is a nicer drive.

If you don't mind me asking, what do you do for a living? Owning a 911 at 24 is dreamy!

A lot of people regard a basic spec 3.6 manual 997 as the purest driving experience of the range. I had a 997 C2S for 3 years. no engine (or others problems) in that time. most cars that have had the engine go bang just haven't been driven enough IMHO.

Be careful of the 911 bug. This one won't be your last. I'm now in 997 turbo and am on the hunt for a 964 project car.

911uk is a great forum if you haven't joined already.

Car salesman for Audi - I spent between the ages of 18-21 saving up alot...

Not sure if this is a sustainable purchase... but I could currently turn it over without it costing me anything, probably still make a profit...

It's the insurance that batters me!
