M front disc's and pads

That's f***ing dangerous - how long have you had it & did you buy it on here ?

EDIT - just saw you bought this from Paza very recently. I'd be having a word with him if I were you... Are the rears proper M discs ?

Have to say paza3's reputation is going down hill somewhat

:-0 you can see how little pad contact there is from the wear on the disc. They're not going to stop 340 horses :-(

I don't understand how Paza couldn't have known, he's owned 3 Ms. He said there was work needed when he bought this car, thought he'd done it all...

I have spoke to Patrick about the situation, he said he had the car checked over twice by separate garages and not happy they did not pick up on this, he was very apologetic to me about the whole situation. There is a bunch of receipts of the work he had done.

I will find out what the discs are when i get them off in a few weeks and let you know what i find, i dont use the car a lot as i have a fiesta as well. They are smaller then the rears which are something like 328mm? So they must be over 2 cms smaller then they are supposed to be. I think there is about 10mm of the pad off the disc.

The rears are proper M's Bing, had this checked as well, probably have the whole car checked over time. I do have stamps for an inspection 2 as well but as the way things are going i will have that done again in the new year, just to be sure. Other then that garage is saying the car is fine.

I would not use it until sorted. I just hope that the calipers aren't damaged as the forces applied without there being a disk across them might knock the piston out of square. That and the fact it's dangerous.

Come on ..

Paza knew... He isnt daft and knows the M car very well, but wasn't gonna drop another £500 into his money making plan..

OP... He didn't by any chance say " I'm devastated that I sold you a car that could have killed you, I will pay for the issue to be sorted immedietly ". ?

No........ Thought not ..

I cant comment on that as i dont know what he knew and i wont say stuff about someone who i dont know very well, I'm not that sort of person, of corse im not happy that i have to pay out £500 for a car just before xmas that i got told what mechanically sound. But it is what is it i guess, i just have to get on with it and sort it myself.

Your very right, i wont be using the car until sorted. Next time it will be used will be driving it to the garage. Very annoying when i haven't had much chance to use the car as it is.

Gutted for you mate as an owner who has had similar situation! (Not from forum membrane)

I think your right not bad mouthing anyone!

Al the best getting her fixed. Hope it's all good news from hear on

Mat

When was the MOT on the car done..

Having the incorrect brakes on would have failed..

Perhaps you could speak to the 2 garages that inspected the vehicle and see if there was any mention of this problem?

If your close to Manchester/ Cheshire and buy the parts I will gladly fit the free of charge to get you on the road..

MOT was done in august this year, and yeah i could do that and see what is going to be said. Don't know what i will find out but i have nothing to lose.

Thats very kind of you unfortunatly im down south in essex, i do appreciate the offers chaps.

Jeez that's reckless. I would be having serious words with the seller, those brakes on this car is potentially lethal. I don't believe that's an accident, someone purporsely trying to save money. Any half arsed mechanic can see the discs are way too small for the caliper.
On the plus side I'd say £500 sounds good fitted with pads. The OEM discs are floating, as opposed to most aftermarket ones which won't be so don't be fooled by cheaper prices. Know where I'd be winging that bill too though.....
