As per title, im in need some discs and pads for the front my M, is there any place you go specifically for these, or isit best to use OEM? Been quoted roughly around £500 all in by my Indy

Any help will be appreciated

Not sure if it helps (and new so unsure on trader posts on this forum) but I use a guy off Clio and Audi Sport for Brembo items. He's always cheaper than the "OEM" providers like ECP and GSF too. I can get his email address and put you in touch if at all helpful?

Don't know many places that offer an aftermarket version of the Z4M/CSL disc - and the ones that do are more expensive than BMW.

Front discs are about £180-£220 each (they're handed too), and pads are about £100, so £500 sounds about right. You might save a bit if the garage has a trade account and shares some of their saving with you, otherwise you'll have to keep an eye out for a special offer.

If you do go to a dealer, then I believe there's a forum favourite (can't remember of the top of my head though) who does a good price including delivery. If you're a member of the BMW Car Club GB, then you're supposed to be able to get a discount from the dealers too.

Cheers for the replies guys he has given me a final price of £520 which includes labour and charges so im happy with that if your all saying its in the ballpark, thats using OEM from bmw as well.

That seems a good price going by the prices quoted by mmm-five

Kingash are the old ones completely knackered? Ie have no value to you???? If so could I please have them for a little project I am thinking of doing.

Need some strong wall fixings if so

Yeah, I guess - my indie has a McLaren brake disc clock on his wall, which is why I asked... But it's made of carbon ceramic so I guess is a good deal lighter :D

I had no idea M brakes were so resonably priced!!

This really does nothing for my "trying not to let myself buy an //M"!!

You're having a laugh, right ? The rears are almost as expensive, so probably a grand fitted all round. In my world that's a cost I have been very careful never to discuss around the wife... Along with the £7-800 for a set of tyres and the £7-900 cost for an Inspection 2

Tyres aren't to bad compared to non ///M's, but as you say brakes all round not cheap even as DIY.

Ha ha no I am not. I want to see if I can get them to fit my car. But if anyone wants a clock like that it wouldn't be a problem. I can get clock mechanism for a few quid. I know as I use them in a teaching course I run at work.

And that's without the little advisories from a service that can escalate, fluids that don't get included in quotes etc ;-)

Well here's the thing... They're not M disc on it, they are too small. Smaller then the rears as it goes, i dont know what they are off at the moment as the car isn't going in yet, but i think somewhere along the line someone has just stuck "z4 discs" on and thought it was fine, or they have tried cutting cost corners. Either way im left with a big bill and crap brakes.

Here's a pic of the front, you can see the unusual wear... And how small the discs are

Well that's not very good :o

Just be careful when you have the proper set on, else you'll put your passenger through the windscreen by accident :D

That's fucking dangerous - how long have you had it & did you buy it on here ?

EDIT - just saw you bought this from Paza very recently. I'd be having a word with him if I were you... Are the rears proper M discs ?
