In my experience with my Z4M Bumper, the fangs, being low and in a precarious location, tend to let you know when you have misjudged an obstacle.
In my case it was a steep inclined drive to the local Dairy Queen.
The good news is that the fang was a lot easier to repair than refurbing the whole bumper.
As far as Zed Dental work goes, I was motivated to install an abrasive plate under each fang. Mine are sized just to fit the lower fang surface (as opposed to the larger plate that was featured on the Forum). Time will tell if this is a suitable design.
In your case it looks like your protectors were designed to extend a tad, maybe to mimic a lip spoiler. I expect they have done their job in protecting the fangs, but now need some TLC.
If you don't like the look, you can fix it.
Hammer it flat
Trim the protector back if the spoiler look doesn't appeal to you.
I am hoping my mod works well enough.
It certainly put me off Dairy Queen.
Good Luck
