I’ll have a set please - after almost a decade of use and abuse my RPi skid plates are distinctly tatty!

Richard do you want me to put them in my case ?

If they’re made in time for your trip, that would be great, thanks Darren. Otherwise, I’ll get them sent to my parents and pick them up next time I’m in the UK

Perfect, we can sort out when they’re ready

Hi, can anyone please tell me what they are and what do they do?
Would they suit a coupe?
Cheers, sorry if it’s a dumb question

They fit on the ‘fangs’ at the outside edges of the ///M front bumper. The fangs tend to catch on speed bumps and steeply sloping kerbs at drive entrances etc which results in damage to the plastic of the bumper. The fang protectors or skid plates act as a sacrificial part that takes the brunt of any impact. They have the advantage of tending to skid over kerbs too, rather than catching.

These photographs show mine. Originally black, but now minus a little paint after years of selflessly protecting the bumper, they are the thin metal plates attached to the underside of the fangs:

I’ll make some more as ran out a few years back. Will message on here when ready

Not quite sure what the bottom of the M bumper is like but would something similar be possible on an Aero front bumper.. It's maybe not as deep as the M but there are a couple "bumps" on the corners that could catch or scrape. I've just recently fitted the Aero kit so would like to preserve it..

Cheers

Great photo, 8) where?

The first is in my parents’ drive. The back of the car is lifted on hydraulic ramps.
The second is the chicane at Thruxton at the end of a 145mph straight (or as straight as any part of Thruxton).

I think I have a set of these unused in my shed, incase anyone is needing a set quickly. I'll have a look tomorrow to make sure
