M Exhaust upgrade

I am thinking that the 1st mod I would like to do to my M is an upgraded rear section of the exhaust.

Here is the must have list:
I want it to be a quality system with ideally larger bore pipes than standard.
It must sound exotic and scream like an Ferrari/F1 car when my foot is to the floor, but be relatively quite below 2-3k revs but still powerful sounding.
Would be great to get any recommendations from you guys.
I don't want the dreaded drone either in the cabin at any, including motorway cruise rev ranges either.

Only just started the search for this, but have already a first cut short list of the following, any obvious contenders missing?

1. Supersprint
2. Eisenmann
3. KKS
4. Meisterschaft

I have listened to video's on youtube, and 3 and 4 above sound the best to me so far, but they are just video's so probably not really representative.

Which do you recommend, or any alternatives ?

Thanks

J

I still think the Haywood & Scott exhaust sounds the best...

Have a look at Andy sixspeeds car

Going from the videos on Youtube - I am now contemplating a 2nd mortgage and getting a KKS

That noise

i know, i know... 8) isn't it. switchable also

My first response to this, having just been out for an hour's roof down hoon, was - why ????

Then I remembered some folk on here have Rogue Diablo back boxes and went Youtubing... After that I found the KKS road test video which put the RD to shame. Wow, what a sound 8)

Two and a half grand though, just for the bits, probably without shipping - then it needs fitted :o

Nope, I have imposed a self-ban on mod expenses until September at the earliest. And something like this is waaaaaaay in the future. If I'm not careful I'll need the second mortgage for a new house

I don't need to change the sound right now anyway, it'll take a long time to get old :driving:

The KKS system shall be going on mine as I want a valve controlled system. However, if you still want a good system at a cheaper price, the do a non valve titanium system too

Not considered exhaust bypass?

£100 ...

Did it to mine, sounds amazing, still looks OEM and no issues at MOT.

It's only €300 cheaper though — when you're spending that much already you'd be mad not to get the switchable version.

Hi Nina
What do you know about these? Quality, any drone etc ? made your mind up it seems. please share your thoughts....cost is not the driving factor (pardon the pun,..hehe)

Thanks J

They've actually considerably reduced the price of the titanium system to shift them as they're no longer in production

They are meant to be very high quality systems, I've seen and heard one fitted to an E92 M3 and thought it was staggering. The price tag is hard to swallow but I personally want a valve controlled system so one has no choice but to swallow the excess that commands. I don't want drone on the motorway which is why the closed option suits me as it's only slightly beefier than stock but then when you wish to let rip, get that valve open and hear the screams! I have a custom exhaust on my 130 hence the decision over drone etc

Thanks for that, I did consider RPI, but just sounds like the rear box has been removed, no real clean/crispness to the sound IMO

Most, if not all aftermarket exhausts will drone at 2-3k revs under load. From your description, Remus won't be loud enough for you up top, but is relatively quiet in the 2-3k range. Perhaps the next louder cans on the scale, Stromung would fit your needs. You'll need to listen to an exhaust in person in order to really judge it properly. There are so many variables that Youtube videos can't convey. For example, I was convinced that I wanted Supersprint when going through Youtube videos. Bought it, had it on for a few hours and then off it came as it was crazy loud (at least for me), drone at cruising RPMs and shakes/rattles the cabin.

Won't this contravene all the Restrictive Covenants PVR made you sign to get the car?

I signed nothing mate - gave him a huge amount of cash, he relinquished all claim on the vehicle. If he moans at me I'll stick my finger in my ears and chant childishly

I have a pair of Stromung silencers on their way from the states.
