Anyone done this? The local chapter of BMWCCA is doing one May 16th (along with the Virginia one). Best thing is, it's half the usual price. One day $630. Not all the spots filled so if any of you NC/VA guys want to have fun.....

I can't wait!!! :driving:

Wonder when they'll figure out I'm the only woman? :D

No other remotely female names on the list. This is gonna be fun.

You're ahead of me by about a week - I'm doing the 2-day school on May 28. Oddly enough, I just got my confirmation packet from my doorman, who warned me the envelope "came like this" - i.e., rather unceremoniously ripped open. Someone along the way was a bit curious about my vacation plans. :o

I may be heading to VIR that weekend. Not sure yet.
But not the school. Saving my pennies for my new Zed...starting to get real itchy...

Next up, I want to do the 2 day class then the day at VIR. :driving:

I was thinking of taking the 1-day then coming back for the 2-day, but I read some posts and apparently the first day of the 2-day covers pretty much the same material as the 1-day, so I figured in for a penny, in for a pound.

May 16th and 17th is also the Ferrari Club and VSCCA (Vintage Sports Car Club) events at VIR. The VSCCA is free and open to the public for viewing.. http://www.vscca.org/

That's what I figured, but the 2 day isn't being offered through the club. I'd probably do the 2 day just to hone skills a bit before I hit the track.

Well, just got back in from the track. That is absolutely the most fun you can have legally. Spent the morning working on skills in M3s, M6s, 335s and M5s. Then after lunch we went for a little competition. I won a rat race, got nosed out in a second, turned a sub 27 seconds in the timed autocross/slalom thing (winner was mid 25 seconds) and on the larger course, hit 95 on the back straight. I have GOT to do this again!!!! still grinning and smelling of burned rubber and brakes. For sh!ts and giggles, the instructors took us out on a full course hot lap. Damn, those guys are good and those M5s are FAST. After we got out of the cars, they took some guys who were down for motorcycle training out for a hot lap. One came back with his helmet on. FUN FUN FUN Highly recommended. :D :driving:

Oh, and hands down the DCT in the M3 is the best. Much smoother than the SMG in the M6 and wicked fast.

Someday I too will be doing that! Sounds like it is more fun than most anything else, thanks for letting this gal share vicariously in your fun day at the track.

Anytime you want to come down and play, JoAnna, let me know. Lots more seat time than HC and more instruction. There were only 30 here today vs over 1000 at HC.There were only a couple women, but we held our own.

You haven't hopped in with speed ventures and taken your car on the track?
